You can make so many delicious dishes including many one pot pasta dishes, making clean up very easy. It has so many features that allow you to ditch all the pots and pans… you can sauté, pressure cook, delay cook, etc. Most importantly, it cuts cooking time down by literally half the time, very convenient for working moms & dads.

Great product with useful Wifi feature
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great versatile product with many features. The Wifi-connected feature makes it even better. Only drawback is it uses an old, separate app for the Smart Wifi features.

Wifi functionality no longer supported
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The vendor has thrown in the towel on their app for wifi models (separate from their main InstantPot recipe app). At first the app was just clunky and difficult to use. Now, its flat out broken. They took the server offline. It’ll keep working if you were already signed in more than 6 months ago… until you have to sign in again (or replace your phone). I reported the issue to InstantPot over a month ago. They responded with a boiler plate “oh thanks, we’ll fix it right away”, but a month later, its still broken. The fact that a quick Google search shows similar complaints from over 6 months ago indicates that InstantPot has no interest in fixing the problem. Worst of all, without the app, the device is actually less functional than the basic wifi-less InstantPot model. I’ve had constant reliability issues when using the physical buttons on the device (wrong temperature, random stops, etc). I had none of these problems when I was able to start the device from the app, and certainly don’t have any of these issues on my old basic InstantPot.

Review from a blind user using voice commands
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great Instant Pot... but a couple notes. I chose this model because I am blind and wanted the ability to use voice commands to control it with Alexa or Google Home. The set-up was complex. My husband whose technical skills are far beyond mine did the set-up, which is done only on a cell phone. we needed help from the maker. Alexa set-up turned out to be do-able Google Home proved to be too complex with not enough how to info. At first, my commands worked intermittently. Second level Tech Support told me how to structure commands... "Alexa, say the function like 'pressure cook', on 'high or low' on InstandPot." ...or whatever you named your pot on your network. Structured this way, my commands work pretty reliably. There is not a lot of info on the web for people who want to use the InstantPot this way. I searched a lot before finding an article that walked through set-up for Alexa and Google Home. You cannot use voice commands for functions with the lid open like Saute. So, as a blind person, I still have to memorize or ask a sighted family member where a couple buttons are. Also, the newer InstantPots have a non-manual pressure valve. This model has the older style, so I have to memorize the sealed and unsealed positions, and also release the pressure manually, which involves a hand and steam. It's not a deal breaker, but I sure wish they had included the new technology on this model. I also wish an 8 qt. version that runs on WIFI was offered, but currently only the 6 qt. is WIFI compatible. But I love making meals with this! It's easy, recipes are plentiful, my involvement with heat is minimal. I've always liked meal-in-a-pot style cooking, so this is right up my alley. My family also loves using it. Often, several of us pitch in to make a soup, which is kind of a fun family activity. My husband has made 2 outstanding stews... from frozen roast to done and delicious in under 3 hours. Interestingly, we've decided we like the stew better without sauteing the roast first, just put frozen or thawed roast in the pressure cooker with at least a Cup of liquid and spices, cook on high 50 - 80 minutes depending on whether its frozen, slow release, add raw vegies, pressure cook 4 to 7 minutes more and you're there. My son loves making Greek yogurt with it. It's way cool and fun! Very glad I got it!

Q: QuestionIs it wifi compatible for my Elexa?
Asked by Harold.
- A:Answer Hi Harold...Unfortunately, the Smart WiFi is not Alexa enabled. The Instant Pot Smart WiFi is the Programmable Multicooker that you can control from your mobile devices: cook, schedule, adjust and monitor the progress of your meals on the go. Like our most popular models of Instant Pot®, the Smart Wifi is 8 appliances in 1: Pressure Cooker, Slow Cooker, Rice/Porridge Cooker, Yogurt Maker, Cake Maker, Sauté/Searing, Steamer, and Warmer. The Instant Pot APP gives you access to hundreds of pre-programmed recipes from slow-cooked meats, stews, and chili, to yogurt, grains, and cake. No stirring or watching over the dish as it cooks. Simply monitor the progress of your meal from your mobile devices, and get notifications along the way. Mobile devices, for Android 5.0 or later and iOS 9.0 or later. Cooker requires 2.4GHz frequency band to operate with App. Please see our How To Video: https://youtu.be/atVQ9toTufo
