INSTEON - INSTEON-Compatible Wireless Motion Sensor - White

I have this sensor used with my dimmer switch for the inside front entrance to turn on when entering the home and approaching the entry way from inside. It works great but i have some adjustments to make as the sensor needs to be placed higher to give it a broader range to trigger the light to turn on. I'm happy with it. Only thing is that I hope it will work outdoors just as good.

I haven't had the opportunity to use this a lot yet, but my experience with Insteon has been very positive. I still need to find a good permanent location for this sensor, but it appears to work well.

I bought several of these to turn lights on and off when motion was sensed. They work great so far. I will see how long the batteries are good for and update the review.

So anyone with an alarm system and pets knows that there are pet motion sensors that don't respond to motion smaller than a certain size object, and this one is susceptible to all motion (including smallest pets), so if you have pets, you may want to think twice about putting this where they traverse. I haven't had it long enough to know about battery life, but I'm assuming it will be like most similar electronics, and use about average battery life. The detection and range seem to be comparable to a normal alarm system motion sensor. Obviously, with most of these Insteon products, the installation is a breeze, even for a hack like me.

I bought this sensor to add on to my system and it works just as described. Setup was fast and easy. Battery life seems to be exceptional as well. I would strongly recommend this addition to your Insteon System.

Its average at best. Ok for I want to use it for at this point.
