  A very inspirational 4 part tv mini series from 1977. I own a huge library of many different genres, over 500 movies, my religious collection consists of only a few re: Kingdom of Heaven, Passion of the Christ, The 10 Commandments, and now Jesus of Nazareth. There are of course no commercials, it's 4:3 HD resolution (I was very sad it was not 1:85 full Wide screen format, but, being a made for TV event it was there choice). I'm in my 50's so when I was young, my parents would watch many of the different religious movies from the 50's 60's and 70's when they came to local TV stations. I only remember bits and pieces of some of them, as I was a small child, The Ten Commandments stuck in my head because of the parting of the red sea, which for that time was a special effect that stood out and wowed many people in the 50's. I have a strong faith in Jesus, but I don't go to church, I watched this movie over Easter weekend it ran something like 6 hours 24 minutes, I don't remember seeing this as a kid, but as an adult, I was floored at how unbelievably beautifully acted, no great special effects, no stage present, just outside land and towns, country side, it never felt boring to me and I found myself unable to stop watching until the end credits. Wow, from before Jesus birth to after his resurrection it truly is an inspirational and complete look into his life and I was captivated from start to finish, when it ended the first thing I did was to try and find it on Blu-ray or Dvd, which I did here at Best Buy for an excellent price, I cannot rave enough on how excellent this movie is and the acting not being over the top stage play theatrics, but grounded and subtle and beautifully done in my absolute and only honest opinion.

  Excellent rendition of the bible! This movie is the greatest Story Ever Told. Highly recommended everyone should watch this movie about God's greatest gift to man!

  Wonderful movie about The Lord Jesus Christ. A lot of top actors for every role. The devil tried to stop Jesus from doing everything good and tried to kill Him, but he could not. Faith in Jesus Christ is well worth it in our lives. Jesus changed a lot of people for good. It would show the children being killed in a way but mostly in shadows and no blood as the soldiers were under Herod’s orders to kill the children trying to find Jesus. Pontius Pilate having Jesus and Barabbas standing by each other as he asked the people who could go free. Jesus was nailed to the cross. Barabbas was freed. It is closer to what happened to all the miracles He did for people. He did suffer for us and if we believe in Him we can be saved.
