Pretty nifty
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I dig the look of these - so retro! Reminds me of the headphones from my Sony Walkman days. There's an extra pair of foam covers if you want to switch to black (instead of the orange). My only nitpick is the control button - it is the disk on the right ear. It doesn't seem to have multiple controls - I accidentally hung up on a call I was just trying to hear better. Other than that, they are pretty nifty!

I'd actually give it 4.5
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These headphone are great! Not only do they look amazing and bring back a lot of great childhood memories, they have superb battery life, connect to Bluetooth without a hitch, and are light on my head but don't shift around when I am working out. The thin band is great and doesn't mash my hair down or hold heat under it and is easy to wipe clean. I also love the extra backup foam covers. The price is fantastic. The only reason they are losing half a star is because you get what you pay for with sound quality and lack of controls. The sound is sufficient for me, but a little on the airy side and I love that I can pause and skip tracks, but I really wish I could change volume and go back from headset controls. Minor drawbacks aside, I love these so much that I bought a 2nd back-up pair in case the 1st ones ever break and they aren't selling them anymore! Ha!

Cool throwback headphones
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been using these cool bluetooth headphones for the past 2 days. They are surprisingly comfortable, and sound good for the $ spent on them. Mids and Highs are clean and clear without sounding too tinny. Bass is good, not thump thump good but they have enough. Fully charged, after about 3 hours of listening the headset told me i was at medium battery the next time i connected them. I am pleased with these headphones and would buy them again. They remind me of the headphones my old walkman came with when i was a kid! I just wish the "cans" were a little bigger, or maybe i just have big ears. But they don't fully cover my ears and i have to readjust them from time to time.

Successful musical Deja Vu
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m having a musical flashback moment. I was one of the millions of people almost 50 years ago who purchased the originals on which these are based. We’ll get to the sound in a minute, but I can assure you that my 50 year old headphones didn’t have ANY of the features you can find here, for 1/3 the price! SOUND and COMFORT: I listened my way back in time, sampling Cold Play, Fitz and the Tantrums and back to early Beatles and Bob Dylan. There was no disappointment. All music genres were quite natural, nicely covering a complete range of sound, decent bass and treble with perfect voicing. Because these are NOT isolating headphones, the bass also came as a nice surprise. Bass is not pounding but it’s realistic. Dynamic range is a bit limited; in other words, these won’t get as loud as more expensive headphones before distorting. It’s physics, not magic. These are low priced headphones that sound very good. These light, soft foam headphones sit nicely on my ears and can be easily tolerated for hours on end. It does not get better than this. FEATURES and SETUP: Both the charging port and Bluetooth indicator are slightly hidden behind the foam ear cover which must be pushed away from its resting position. The large button on the right ear piece controls EVERYTHING. Bluetooth (right side ear, press button for 8 seconds to connect using phone, etc). Select “JLAB Rewind” on your BT device. Power on (Press button 2 seconds). Power Off, hold button 4 seconds. (It says goodbye!) Answering/Hanging up phone. Play. Pause are a ONE button press. Activate Siri or Google Assistant is 2 click press. Custom EQ (3 click button presses cycles through 3 equalization settings). You’ll find one you like. There’s even an extra pair of ear cushions (I could switch out my Orange for Black in my set). COMMENTS / FEELINGS: <> The packaging is bubble-pack aggravating. <> There is no direct volume control . . but Siri increased or decreased the volume from my iPhone6 with no problem. <> There is no direct hard wiring to devices; it’s total commitment to Bluetooth, and that works perfectly. <> There is NO isolation from your environment, but that’s the design objective, and it can be desirable for many end users. <> I had to work to squeeze the micro-USB into its port, but that’s only because I was initially timid about lining up the earpiece to make space. SUMMARY: JLAB may very well sell millions of these to another generation. And, no, they aren’t going to outperform today’s crop of super-accurate, completely isolating over-the-ear headphones. However, these JLAB REWIND WIRELESS RETRO headphones are tremendous fun for an absurdly low price. There is no excuse for anyone not to take an audio trip back in time, as Bob Dylan invites you “. . . to dance beneath the diamond sky . . . [and] . . . forget about today until tomorrow.” Highly recommended. Great gift idea.

Great for Star Lord cosplay or non-discerning kids
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.PROs: - Seriously...light as a feather making them ultra comfortable - BIG one-button control on ear-cup actually works very well - Bluetooth connection was quick and bulletproof - Kitschy and retro--perfect for Halloween or Comicon appearances as Star Lord - Bargain-basement price makes it decent value, especially if kitschy and retro were what you were after (a perfect stocking stuffer or white elephant gift!) - Voice assist and phone answering worked well--not sure where the mic is hidden but callers had no trouble hearing me - Comes with charging cable and another set of foam ear-pads (which you're going to need) - GREAT size/easy functionality for little kids and cheap enough that you don't cringe at the thought of giving them a set of their own CONs: - Music sounds just okay--a bit thin and a little muted; bass is muddy and imprecise, especially in DSP boost mode; mids and vocals are passable but nothing special - Colored pads like these pick up dirt quickly--after only 3 days of light use, I changed out the orange pads for black - Charging port location almost guarantees the ear-pads will wear out after repeated stretching, twisting, and removal - Clearance around the charging port is somewhat limited; if you have a chubby-ended cable you typically use for other devices, it may not fit in the space provided - No remote volume control or music repeat/rewind (only FFW) When I was 12 years old, I had a black Mura Hi-Stepper portable FM radio with headphones that looked EXACTLY like these--2 years later, I graduated to a Sony cassette Walkman with similar-looking phones. So yeah...some fond memories and sentiments are conjured up when I look at these. The thing is, what was compelling about those devices wasn't that they sounded phenomenal--they didn't--it was simply that I could bring some tunes with me pretty much anywhere without needing a grotesque "boom box" or home stereo to do so. Flash forward to today and I'm not really sure what someone else would want to get out of these. On the one hand, they sound just as retro as they look--passable, but nothing fancy or over-the-top. Is that okay? For someone like me, old enough to remember this sort of style before it was retro, my musical tastes have matured enough to where I appreciate what good-sounding headphones can sound like. That being so, I'd probably pass on these for my own use. BUT, if you weren't expecting to be blown away by the sound quality in the first place, then yeah--because you're essentially looking at a pair of "novelty headphones" updated for the wireless world. In that sense, you will get exactly what you pay for and maybe even a few more modern conveniences. They're ultra cheap and DO work as advertised both in function (wireless, voice-assist/phone answering enabled) and in form (retro--yay!), and they're incredibly comfortable because they weigh virtually nothing. Better still, if you give these to a younger listener who isn't so concerned with sound quality (like my 7 year-old daughter), the tune changes even further because everything "cool" about these headphones is that much more--light/unobtrusive, one-touch/easy-to-use features with informative voice prompts, comfortable ear-pads, wireless, just like daddy used to have, etc. For those reasons alone, I'll be keeping these. One design niggle to be aware of; there is no way to access the charging port without having to pull the foam ear pad back and away from the plastic driver housing. My experience with such pads from "back in the day" is that the foam's natural tendency to sag, wear, and break down over time is going to be accelerated by the constant stretching and manipulation necessary to keep these charged on a regular basis. For occasional use, that probably won't be an issue anyway; but if you plan to use these as everyday listeners, those days would probably be numbered. Then again, the price of entry isn't so high in the first place, so maybe you can forgive that shortcoming as well.

They call it RETRO, I call it SIMPLE.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tried these over the ear retro headset because there are times in-ear buds aren't safe or pop out. These are perfect for everyday use. Recharging is simple with included micro USB cable. It plugs right into the jack hidden behind the earpiece. Once charged it lasts around 8-hours. The sound was clear over BlueTooth. While making a phone call, I asked how the microphone sounded. The person I was speaking with said fine. So, to pair it is easy , tap the side button to answer a call, and adjust the volume or skip forward/back in your playlist. All in all fairly nice sound. The orange foam cushions are interchangeable with included black pads. Fit my head comfortably. No cord to get tangled in. For the price, it's incredible.

About what you'd expect
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While the allure of nostalgia is pretty tempting, this headphones are about what you'd expect from something like these. If you're old enough to remember the original version of these then you know these aren't quite audiophile quality. These will simply play your music. The headband is a tad on the small side however I have a pretty big head so yeah. The wires connected to the speakers run along side the headband so you'll need to be careful not to pull on them too hard. The spongey earpads are exactly as I remember them and they're no different on these. This does come with a a pair of black earpads if you're so inclined to swap them out. I kept the original orange ones in place. Sound is surprisingly acceptable. While nowhere near noise cancelling or even close to it, they do an acceptable job at playing music and sound OK. Not great but they are just OK. Biggest issue I found was the location of the charging port. It's buried behind/underneath the foam earpad. You have to pull out the earpad a bit in order to get the cable plugged in. Bad design and it'll definitely wear out that side of the earpad quickly. I REALLY prefer my headphones/earbuds to sound good. I can't go with ones that are just OK, which is what these are. If you're really in the mood for some nostalgia while listening to your music, pick these up or you can gift these to someone as a gift. BUT, I'd say pass on these just due to the sound quality of them.
