Action Packed Adventure
The plot involves an adventure to a mysterious island based on writings by Jules Verne. Sean (Josh Hutcherson) is a young scientist drawn to the island by his grandfather (Michael Cane). His stepfather (Dwayne Johnson) is also on the trip as a member of the family. They arrive to find the lost City of Atlantis but need to escape quickly due to it's golden volcanic activity. It's realistic but the helicoptor pilot says it's in the Pacific Ocean instead of the Atlantic. The real Atlantis is likely under the North Beach of Paradise Island, Bahamas. It has ruins and other ancient artifacts which sort of resemble Mayan ruins. I recommend you see this movie and take a trip to Atlantis in the Bahamas. Experience it yourself and decide if you think it is Atlantis. Great action acting and directing. Mystery solved?
This is an excellent movie. I think Jules Verne would be pleased, although a little bit skeptical of the various systems of the Nautilus still functioning after this long. The DIY "scuba" might give a single breath at 3 or 4 feet, but no deeper. Also, getting a jump start from a giant electric eel is really asking a lot of "suspending disbelief".
