does what it advertises
I needed a way to add an optical audio output since Apple in their infinite wisdom decided to eliminate it on their new Apple TV. This works perfectly. and it's reasonably priced.

Works to allow new Apple TV to have an optical out
Purchased new 4k Apple TV and then horrified to find out they deleted the optical output making connection to my audio system impossible. Drove back to Best Buy to ask salesman if an adapter was available. He checked with others there and they concluded nothing available. looked on-line and found this on their web-site. It works and it's an easy hook up even though the instructions that come with it are completely lacking.

If you have a PS4 Slim this is for you!
I purchased this because I need an optical out in my PS4 slim. Sony decided to remove the optical out of the slim version so it make it difficult to connect my Astro a50s. I remember it saying it was for Apple TV but it works great on the PS4 slim.
