overall, it's a pretty good coffee maker
Posted .My old Black and Decker coffee maker only lasted a little over a year and never did make a really hot cup of coffee. This one from Kitchenaid makes a good, hot pot of coffee. I didn't like the fact that the lid doesn't seem to be removable. That would make it alot easier to clean. The filter basket only goes in one way, and isn't the easiest to clean either because of the handle that it has to assist removing it from the coffee maker. Also, as some others have mentioned the plastic at the top of our pot evidently didn't get sealed as it leaked like a sieve. I ordered a new carafe and it was fine. I will be returning the old one. The auto timer and on/off button take a little getting used too. To use the auto function after you set the time, I found the easiest way to activate it is to push the ^ arrow button, then push and hold the brew button until "auto" displays. If you don't "wake it up", you can stand there all day holding the button and nothing will happen. Finding a decent coffee maker that is programmable and easy to use just doesn't seem possible. I bought this one mainly because I needed a new one ASAP and was just plain tired of looking at coffe makers and not really seeing anything I wanted to spend the money on. If this one lasts 3-5 yrs, I'll consider myself ahead in the search for a ho-hum coffee maker.

KitchenAid coffee maker KCM1110B
Posted .When pouring coffee into a cup, part of the coffee spills down the carafe. Wasteful and irritating!! I have not had this product but for a week so I have not experienced the other features which take time to see how they work.

Looks good, but doesn't work
Posted .After returning the first version of this coffeemaker (the plug didn't work - at my house or at the store where I bought it.) I thought the second one would be better. Not so much. The coffee filter basket tends not to want to sit at the level where the top can close easily; then you turn the coffeemaker on, the light goes on but no water goes into the carafe. Had to fiddle with that a few times before it brewed any coffee. Then while making a larger pot of coffee (it's supposed to hold 12 cups) the grounds got all over the top of the filter basket and into the coffee itself. I was really disappointed that kitchenaid has made such a lousy product. I thought after the first lemon was returned the second would be fine. Lesson learned. It's hard to find a decent coffeemaker these days. Who woulda thunk it? Went back to my DeLonghi. The hot plate doesn't heat the carafe as well as I'd like, but the rest of it works fine.

This one's a DRIP...
Posted .I've always associated KitchenAid with quality kitchen products, but not this time. I was initially drawn to the "cool" design of the machine thinking "wow, this is different". However, upon brewing my first pot of coffee, I learned that beauty was only skin deep... like the first review, my pot leaked upon pouring. Rather than returning the entire machine, I called KitchenAid and requested a replacement carafe. They replaced it promptly, and without question. However, the replacement carafe performed just like the original. Arrrgh! So I returned the coffeemaker for a refund. Needless to say, I was very disappointed with my purchase. Until they fix their design... do NOT buy this machine.

Very good coffee maker for the money
Posted .This coffee maker does the job. I love the fact that you can pull out the water holding tank to fill it. My only quibble is that the button to start the brewing is a little tempermental and non-intuitive. Other than that, solid and durable.

Great household coffee maker!
Posted .I've read all the reviews, and almost did not buy this coffee maker. However, we remodeled our kitchen, and I liked the way it looked. Plus I've had other KitchenAid products that I'm happy with, so I decided to give it a try. I am glad I did. I am very happy with this coffee maker, I have not experienced any dripping from the craft while pouring my coffee. The filter basket does sit up, but if you push it down while lowering the handle, it stays down. I love the fact you can remove the water reservoir, it makes it easy and clean. I use to spill water whenever I filled my Mr. Coffee. I'm pleased to say I've had no issues so far, and it makes a great cup of hot coffee.

Awful
Posted .I really tried with this machine only because it looks great, unfortunately the foul toxic plastic taste just doesn't go away. I ran over 20 water only cycles to try and purge it but to no avail. It also gets water all over the place from the cover to the pot itself. Don't bother with this one. A rare fail from kitchenaid.
