Carafe leaked after less then 3 months

Paid $100 for a basic coffee maker and the carafe is leaking after less then 3 months. Same place that all glass/plastic carafes eventually start to leak so it amazes me that these are still made this way. For $100 cant I buy a coffee maker that is free from the most problematic of all coffee maker problems?
Totally unacceptable for this problem to occur so soon. I'm sure its from being put into the dishwasher after each use and the plastic has expanded. So if you hand wash your coffee carafe every time then maybe this wont happen to you. Otherwise pick another coffee maker.

2nd Was BETTER Than the 1st.....!!!

The first item received was defective and when we finally completed the "only at Best Buy" process of returning a "not stocked in store/on-line only" item, received credit, then re-ordered again, the second coffeemaker has been working just fine and consistently making very good pots of coffee over the last month. It is fairly simple to operate after you get used to which buttons to press and it actually has more features than we'll ever need, but all things considered, we are pleased with the performance so far and happy we made this purchase. At about $100, it is on the pricey side, but it helped to have a $50 gift card to "put in on sale for HALF off"!!!

carafe leaks...

...I was very excited to get this coffee maker, didnt mind a higher price because it is a KitchenAid. Timer, temp control, removable tank, and look are awesome. But, after about 6 weeks the carafe leaks, actually pours coffee onto my counter top, just a flawed design, leaks where the glass and plastic meet...(which is why I got rid of my previous coffee maker) If I make a full 14 cups of coffee, approx 2 cups end up on the counter.

Heat plate does not last

This is great because of the 14 cup capacity and you can take the water tank off to fill. However with daily use, after six months, the teflon hotplate is scratched, stained, chipping, and disgusting.

Leaks from plastic seam on coffee pot

I've had this coffee pot for a couple of months now and coffee is starting to leak from the seam between the plastic and the glass when I pour a cup. Ends up spilling coffee on the counter as I try to pour.
Expected a better coffee pot for $99.
