The crowning jewel of the kitchen!

I had a previous KitchenAid model (less than a year old) which had a control panel malfunction, causing the heat dry feature to fail, and it could not be repaired. The manufacturer's warranty stood behind their product, and I was able to replace it, while also upgrading to a better model. The previous one had the controls along the top of the door, which allowed for an attractive, sleek look. However, you could not very easily track the cycles, nor tell when it was done, since the lights were hidden under the countertop. Hence, I chose to go with a front-view control panel, which I really like. This new model is also much quieter than my previous... you can't tell when it's running! I now also have additional features for even better cleaning capability.

This was a replacement for a nine year old Kitchenaid which needed a pretty minor spring repair, but at that age I didn't want to spend the money. Also, I was switching from black front to stainless steel in the kitchen anyway.
Although I have had many dishwashers over the years Kitchenaid in their higher end products have a great combination of features and value

Reliable Product; Heated Dry a Plus

This has been a reliable dishwasher. Heated dry setting does a very good job considering some other dishwashers hardly dry due to energy savings settings. Also...Unfortunately the "wheels" for the upper rack have broken after 3 years of use. Need to super-glue or get replacement part. Not a deal breaker, but kind of annoying to address.

Bought this dishwasher two years ago - March 2011. We wanted a quieter dishwasher, and we really searched around and read all the reviews before we settled on this one. I thought we were really getting a quality product because KitchenAid has always been top quality. It is truly a very quiet machine; always cleans and dries the dishes better than any other dishwasher we had previously owned. I liked the options for cycles and the energy efficiency of it.....
All that said, I am not sure if we just got a defective appliance; however, the buttons stopped working consistently so we had to press the whole control panel down with one hand and select a button with the other to make it turn on. Two of the axles on the top rack broke off of the wheels after a year and a half. Replacement parts for those cost $65/each. It quit working completely in June of 2013; the buttons would turn on, but nothing would happen, then the unit would just shut itself off. I called a repair technician, and he looked at it and told me that he has replaced many of these KitchenAid dishwasher's computer panels. The parts and labor were going to cost about $525, so my husband and I said, 'forget it!" We bought a Bosch.

Quiet

I was very worried about the noise level, as it indicates a 49db noise level. It is a quiet dishwasher, easy to use, and cleans my dishes better than my last dishwasher. Best to use the control lock feature as it is very sensitive.

Quiet and roomy

Pros:
Nice quiet roomy dishwasher that has the "pot scrubber" feature. I load it up and hit start - hard to know its running. Stainless steel interior and exterior make it easy to wipe down and keep clean. The top rack is adjustable to allow bigger items to be arranged around.
Cons:
Price was a bit steep - the top slide out seems a bit flimsy. The touch buttons - while easy to set, are also easily accidentily reset by brushing up against them so you have to use the control lock, not a big deal but still a con.
