Speaker Buying Guide

  • Handles up to 300W peak power (75W continuous): For robust and controlled audio that is crisp and clear.
  • 5-1/4" cerametallic woofer: Along with 1" titanium tweeter for a complete range of sounds.
  • Dolby Atmos overhead sound effects: The addition of elevation speakers reflects sound from the ceiling to put sound anywhere in your room - making you feel like you're truly in the middle of the action.
  • 2-way speaker system: Sounds like 1 source rather than several separate sources. Drivers are angled up to reflect sound off the ceiling, for a heightened sound stage and overhead effects.
  • Removable grille: Remains acoustically transparent while protecting the speaker's components.
  • 8 ohms nominal impedance: Ensures efficient conduction of power through the speaker.
  • Keyhole mounting: For on-wall elevation/surround sound use.
  • Convenient placing: Designed to sit on top of floor standing front or back speakers.

Q: Can these speakers be used as front surround speakers with a 5.1 configuration?

A: 5.1 surround consists of Two fronts (R/L), Two Rear (R/L) and a Center Channel = 5 Speakers. The "point 1" is the subwoofer. Now that we are on the same page on what a 5,1 config consists of, the Two speakers up front would be primary Right and Left. If you currently have a 5.1 set-up and place these up front up top, then yes these will work great as front heights. This would essentially move you to a 5,2,1 solution at that point. If you are asking if these speakers would work for front left and front right - the answer is they will produce sound, no they are not idea as Front R/L Main. Yes on heights, no for mains. Hope that helps. Floor standing speakers are going to be the best option for front left and right mains, solid bookshelfs could be utilized as well with a good subwoofer with front mains. These speakers do not handle the range or the wattage a solid set of FS speakers would handle and be able to produce. These speakers will work great for rear surrounds, rear height surround, side surround, or Atmos height front or rear. These are not good for front main speakers.

Q: Are these speakers made to hang on a wall or ceiling?

A: They're designed so you don't have to mount anything in the ceiling. They can be mounted high on the wall or lay completely flat on tower speakers. They come with rubber footings so theres never any full contact between the speakers and wall or tower speakers

Q: will these speakers work at all if my receiver doesn't have an atmos feature ?

A: They will produce audio, but it will only be a surround channel. In these cases, you should hang them off the wall as opposed to on top of the tower speakers as Atmos.

Q: My Klipsch towers have TWO sets of connections. Can I hook these directly to the towers OR do they need to be connected directly to the Rec.

A: 2 sets of terminals on a speaker indicate they can be bi-wired to separate frequencies that go to the woofer(s) and the tweeter(s) from an amplifier that is configured for it or two separate amplifiers. These two sets of terminals on the speaker should be bridged together unless you are going to bi-wire them from the amp(s). Speakers that already have the Atmos speaker built into them (two sets of speakers in one cabinet) will also have two sets of terminals that are not bridged with each set being a separate channel to connect from the receiver.

Q: I do not have a receiver with the Atmos feature. Can I use these speakers as surround sound on stands behind me ? I cannot place them on my walls. Will on stands behind me work ? Thank you

A: I believe these have a switch built in to use as surround or height speakers. Changes frequency crossover point. However these speakers are physically built with the proper speaker angle for Atmos performance. ( angled up) Your speaker would have to be placed to accommodate that angle and adjust speaker face perpendicular to floor to sound best.

Q: Will these speakers work with the Polk Audio Monitor 70 tower speakers?

A: To be honest with you they should as long as you have the hook up in back of your receiver for dolby atmos speakers.

Q: I have Klipsch floor speakers w/atmos, Klipsch center, 2 Klipsh subwoofers. Bought these as front height surround, rear surround is not achievable in my setting. Vaulted 12' ceiling. Plan on mounting at top of 8' wall in surround setting. Good placement?

A: I use these as surround rear hanging on the wall and Klipsch ceiling mounted speakers for Atmos right over my head just in front of my seat angled back. The speakers have an adjustable tweeter. This works really well with my vaulted ceiling with 5.2.4.

Q: What gauge wire is suggested for a distance of about 12ft ?

A: Since 12' is a very short run, you can use up to 18 gauge wire and not have any signal loss. We recommend 12-16 gauge as standard.
