Fav LOTR game ever. One of the best Lego games.

I've played pretty much all of the Lord of the Rings games since the PS2 days. This is the best one I've played. I've played all of the Lego games and this is one of the best ones due to the movie tie in (grew up w/ Star Wars and Indiana Jones so those are my other favorite ones). Just like playing the movie, Lego style. Seems puzzles are getting easier/less of and less building as newer Lego games are coming out. More action now. I'm a big collector of LOTR figures and Legos too so Pros: - Fun experience from start to finish - Gameplay, graphics, sound, and music are great. - Music is from the movie soundtrack which is awesome - Voice overs are straight from the movie. - Intermissions follow the movie theme with Lego humor tied in. - Open world environment w/ the option of checkpoints (that have to unlocked) destinations. - Just like other Lego games, plenty of collectables and unlockables. This time most of them are done from side quests which were fun. - From time to time, you get to choose or switch back and forth between different levels/storylines. If playing 2 player split screen, you can even split up playing 2 differ levels at the same time. Cons: - Unfixed bugged glitch in which the game can randomly freeze up. You have to turn off and turn back on your Xbox 360 so you lose your progress. Unavoidable even after downloading the newest update and the game to my hard drive. It froze twice on my on the exact same spot on level 9. Never froze again after that. Good thing this game is forgiving in which you have lots of checkpoints.

The game is incredibly fun for all ages. My wife and I always purchase the latest LEGO game and we love playing the game together. The game follows the movie quite well and the graphics are one of the best in the series of LEGO games. The worlds can be massive and there are a ton of missions. The pros out weight the cons but there are a few things I wish were fixed. There are quite a few glitches to the game (falling through the map, items not working, etc.. ) and a few times even had to restart my Xbox due to it locking up. My biggest complaint is making mithril items at the blacksmith. It cuts to 3 cut scenes that can't be skipped and eat up a lot of time. It's like it gives you a tutorial even though you've created 10 different items already. Overall the game was incredible and am am excited for the next LEGO iteration in the series.

The LEGO video games are always a good bit of fun. They offer a lot of replayability and fun quirks and gimmicks. Especially for a LOTR fan, this game was a blast. However, there are some excrutiating slow parts during the story mode. Free play is a much more enjoyable experience, but both modes are still fun. The split screen feature ruined the game for me a little. The game is way too liberal in dividing the screen when your stray a little from your coop partner. Its hard to see anything around you when split screen activates, and the dynamic split feature (the screen moves to accommodate your position on the map) is disorientating. However, other than this fault, LEGO LOTR was an absolute pleasure, especially when playing with a friend.

Great game but multiplayer camera is annoying

Overall I think this is the best game in the Lego series so far. The gameplay is much more in depth than previous Lego games. Really my only complaint is the multiplayer camera. Like the past few Lego games, a black line divides the screen allowing the players to roam more freely without having to be close to each other. It's a good idea and in Lego games like the two Harry Potter games, it worked well. However, in this one you can be nearly right next to each other and the stupid black appears dividing the screen. If you try to stay together but get just far enough away the black line appears and it gets annoying really quickly. Other than that, great game.

The game follows the movie well, with a bit of humor. Tons of side quests along with the levels makes for hours of play. Love that you can carry multiple items. Switching of characters in freeplay still needs work (it sometimes doesn't switch character you are playing but the other character, causing you to lose your place on high ground.) There has been several glitches and freezes throughout the game causing me to restart levels and restart counsel several times. The levels are not challenging, was able to run through all of the levels without a problem. Only a few challenges on the side missions in each of towns.

If you don't like past Lego games, this game won't change your opinion of them. On the contrary, if you love past Lego games, this game is a dream come true. Similar to Lego Batman 2, this game has a large open world to explore in-between levels. LotR fans of all ages will especially love the dialogue pulled straight out of the movies, along with the added jokes and gags. If you want to 100% the game, it will easily take the most skilled players 30+ hours to do so. Definitely one of the best Lego games in the series. I highly recommend it.

First of all - I didn't buy this game for me. I bought it for my 10 year old brother who *loves* Legos and has nearly *all* the Lego games. He literally spends probably 4 hours or more a day playing this game. He told me the only frustrating thing hes encountered was one of the levels where he could not progress in the game. hes fairly addicted to playing, and gets angry if he keeps failing a level. Also, I can't really answer whether if the storyline is any good, but im assuming so, but couldn't legit answer it.

Since the Wii U was such a disappointment on Nintendo I was looking for a replacement to my favorite Zelda game. This is a good one if you like puzzles and action at the same time. It's got a nice mix of brain teasing puzzles and also swordplay just like the original Zelda games. This game also features a multitude of additional play after you finish the story mode which is pretty cool. What I don't like about it is that some of the characters have to be bought to be played.
