When you’re cooking for company, you need a microwave that starts out looking good—and stays looking good. LG’s 2.2 cu. ft. microwave handles that family-sized casserole, and looks good doing it, with sleek, intuitive SmoothTouch controls located on the front of the stylish glass door. Cleanup? It’s a breeze, thanks to EasyClean interior’s stain-resistant technology. And with the enhanced ventilation of ExtendaVent 2.0, you don’t just have a microwave—you have more.
A: I have used microwaves with exterior venting, and no venting. When we didn't vent our microwaves the moisture that comes from the interior is vented out into your kitchen. Depending on the make and manufacturer if may vent out the top, bottom etc. But that moisture accumulates in your kitchen and in our case the exhausted moisture vented downward and since heat rises, the underneath surfaces of my upper cabinets was destroyed,as well as the finish of my upper cabinets above the microwave. This happened with 3 different micro. On the 3rd micro we saw it was going to do the same bad venting into my kitchen, which by the way raises the humidity in your kitchen making it like a sweat box while cooking,it can also cause food smells to stay in your home, staining cabinets and paint and wallpaper., especially if you are into frying foods. When we vented our last two microwaves we no longer had all the nasty problems I noted here. Venting outside is much better, and I will never go with the ventless installation, again. Also going ventless shortened the life of the over the stove mounted microwaves significantly. I don't care if you spend $100 or $1000, ..even a $100 is a lot of money to waste, when you have to work so hard to earn it. Hope my honest answer saves some of you trouble and expense.
Q: Does this LG LMHM2237BD microwave have the option to vent outside?
A: Yes. I have this microwave and I have vented to outside. Works pretty well - it has enough air flow to flip the check valve on the vent cover outside. Note: the fan is loud though. Loud in the kitchen and probably not because I am venting outside (that probably quiets it a bit). Also there is no way to wipe of the glass on inside of door due to mesh screen. Other brands use a front pane of glass and a back pane of glass and the mesh screen is in between so you can wipe of the glass.
A: No you won't feel the from below at all. The vent area is where the fan pulls the air into along with the fumes and the through filters and the air is blown back into the air at the front top of the microwave.
Q: Can you see inside while food is cooking?
A: No, something I am not happy about. But otherwise it is a good quality microwave.
Q: Does this get vented outside if so what size vent
A: Yes it can be configured to vent to the outside using the 3.25 X 10 duct. It also does not need to be outside vented.
Q: Is the interior stainless steel or black?
A: It has a ceramic interior which allows for easier cleaning. The color is a dark gray.
A: Hello Sanchezchu, This model does not have an Auto Vent Fan, but when the LG 2.2 cu. ft. Over-the-Range Microwave Oven with EasyClean®, Model # LMHM2237ST is cooking, the vent fan turns on automatically if the sensors detect too much heat from the cooktop to prevent microwave component damage...^IFV
Q: does this unit vent to the outside?
A: Yes. As stated in the description of the microwave , the unit can be vented. A 10 minute fan rotation is required and is easy to do. Mounting the unit may be difficult since it is recommended not to support the microwave from the bottom due to potential damage to the slide out intake at the bottom. Overall, a nice microwave and exhaust.
