The Nano 9 is a very good TV.
||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This TV (Nano 9) has a great picture. the speakers seem pretty good. I am disappointed to find that the TV's of today no longer provide RCA jacks on them so a person who has hearing aids cannot use them to feed a external solution to support the handicap. I need to turn the TV up to hear it and others in the room are forced to listen to the sound that is much too loud for their comfort. My older Samsung has RCA jacks which can be used to feed an external box that feeds my hearing aids via Bluetooth and my wife and others in the room can listen with the volume to the TV speakers at a comfortable level. If a TV company comes out with a TV that includes that option (RCA Jacks for external volume), I will give this TV to one of the Kids and buy another one for my wife and I. I also submitted a picture of RCA Jacks below.

Easy to use
Posted .Installation and initial set up was simple, guided, straightforward. TV is very lightweight but due to size I would highly recommend getting a 2nd person to help with unboxing/installation. Audio is plenty loud and crisp. I'm not a huge audiophile but I typically use a soundbar on my other sets for movies. I'm going to hold out on this one for now as I've found its audio performance to be excellent out of the box. Apps are easy to install once you know how to access the LG Content Store, which wasn't as straightforward as I would've liked, but worked easily once I figured that out. The Magic Remote is easy and fun to use. It's able to control my satellite TV receiver with nearly no set up. My kids love the point and click aspect of it. The interface took me a little while to get used to but that's probably because this is my first LG set. Regardless, its snappy and easy to navigate. What has really blown me away is the quality of the picture. Even with 1080p content this picture is absolutely stunning, and puts my other TV sets to shame. Viewing angles are great and color looks bright and accurate. I find myself watching this TV more than any other simply because I love nature documentaries and I've never seen them look so sharp and detailed. ***I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest opinion

LG 55in Nanocell 9000 series TV is great!
Posted .I am really impressed at the picture quality and how easy it is to navigate the interface. Unboxing is a bit tedious by yourself. The bezels are small about ¼ inch all around. It has 4 HDMI 2.1 ports making this future proof. Overall build of the TV is great, but the stand is wobbly. Running the initial setup was quick and easy. Access to all your web apps are at a click of the home button and LG content store. The TVs next gen processor is set up to make sure your most used apps are always at the touch of a button which is awesome and convenient. Every device I plugged in was recognized by webOS. Especially, LG’s SK9Y soundbar using arc. I was able to control my Xbox, TiVo, Apple TV directly from the remote. The TV is a lot brighter for HDR content compared to my other LG TV. Me and my family tested it watching Captain Marvel twice in a darkroom and the dark's and colors were a lot crisper then last year’s model. This really impressed me and my mother. I also tested it playing Division 2 at 1440P and VRR(known as Freesync) on Xbox. The TV auto detects game consoles and turns on low latency mode. I’m really surprised that the TV supports 1440P when the specs state they don’t and that is a plus for me as an avid gamer. As a consumer I would recommend the LG Nano 9 to my friends and family. Everything about this TV was above and beyond what I expected. There are a lot of small things like the magic remote functionality, HDMI 2.1, WebOS. I can go on listing the positives and comparing but you really do get your money’s worth when you go with LG. Disclaimer: I received an LG TV at a deeply discounted price from the Insiders, however, this review is my honest opinion.

Rich Dolby Vision HDR color marred by blooming!
Posted .To preface this review, I am an owner of the Nano 8 series and love that TV. Just like this year's new SM9000, it too features Nano Cell technology which uses LED local dimming. By dimming areas of the picture that are dark while lighting up the parts of the picture that are meant to be bright, LG's "NanoCell" technology makes for incredible contrast ratios and deeper blacks, but it also introduces a problematic side effect: blooming. Naturally, I was very ecstatic to get my hands on the new 2019 NanoCell 9 but unfortunately, the new and improved "Full Array Local Dimming", or "FALD", unintentionally introduces even noticeable blooming because of the result of introducing more LED lights in the display. You should know that FALD features hundreds of mini LED lights behind the panel that work in "zones". Essentially, it works much the same way as local dimming but promises more accurate LED lighting because there are more zones behind the screen. But having multiple zones of these LED lights behind the set continuously dims and brightens the content and causes blooming around any areas in the content that are bright. And because there are much more LED lights working behind the display, the blooming just seems that much more apparent. The result in watching a partially lit shot are obvious splashes of light that bleed all over the place. Alas, there is a way to stop the blooming! It involves turning down or completely off the "LED local dimming" setting, but there's also a side effect to that as well: blacks become very grayish and you lose your high contrast ratios. In the end, there was too many compromises to be had and all this blooming because intolerable to me. I couldn't resist and ultimately purchased the OLED C9 which next to the NanoCell 9, trumps it in contrast ratio with absolute zero blooming. Now even though I am opting for the OLED and that you would think that this review is an entirely negative take on the 2019 NanoCell 9, it isn't really the case. This LCD excels in truly rich colors. Dolby Vision content on my Apple TV makes for truly realistic and vibrant colors. Watching brightly lit content with lots of light in the room makes this LCD set strikingly attractive. Any one of Apple's 4K daytime aerial screensavers delivers a knockout image in color richness and clarity. Watching Netflix's "Our Planet" shows vast landscapes and animal fur such as the mythical Syberian Tiger in very rich vibrant color. The brightly neon lit holographic adverts of futuristic LA in Blade Runner 2049 in 4K from iTunes is stunning and blends colors like pinks and purples euphorically. And I personally don't watch sports, but I would imagine the outdoor fields would look glorious. Other future proofing positives include Dolby Atmos, AirPlay 2, eARC, and WiSA support (I am personally very excited for this one!). It has a7 Gen 2 processor, unlike the more advanced a9 in the OLED, but it should still be great smoothing out gradient color banding, and you have also have an extremely low latency which is perfect for gaming. So what's the big takeaway from this? The blooming sucks and tolerance for it will vary from user to user. I disliked it enough to spend double the amount for an OLED to replace this. You can get away with really liking this LCD if you like to mostly watch TV mostly during the day. Also if you simply can't rationalize spend a lot more. Otherwise, this is a spectacular LCD that is very future proofed. However, if you do watch a lot of content at night and you are willing to spend more, than I cannot recommend highly enough to go for the OLED.

Family Entertainment Masterpiece
Posted .I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest opinion. I must say when my wife received this LG Nanocell TV I was quite amazing with picture quality and sound. The ease of menus and using apps is quite awesome as well. The controller comes with voice controls and motion controls. If you sync your phone you can use that to control the TV as well. I definitely say 5 out of 5 with this tv and as an avid movie watcher and gamer you will not be disappointed by the picture quality of the stunning 4k graphics when available. I had an old 43 inch Sony Bravia that was a great TV but the sound just didn't compare nor did the picture quality. This has made me fall in love with my living room again and the game apps to play with my family are a good time as well. I would suggest this tv to all my friends and family.

Totally Worth It!!
||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.I bought this as an open box in “good condition.” However it is in excellent condition and works great. I also was able to learn about the 3 C’s of TV purchasing from my sales associate. He was very kind and knowledgeable. 3 C’s - color, clarity, contrast. This TV has it all. Literally! My sales person confirmed that this tv met the 3 c criteria. No, it wasn’t a sales pitch. TV looks fabulous.

- A:Answer It supports 4K @ 120hz. But remember that the source must kick it out. For example: If you’re watching a video in 1080p 60hz. That’s what your TV will display. I have watched movies in 2160p/ True Motion 240, with this TV. I hope my reply helped answer any concerns about the TV.
