A: This is full array not edge lit. Not sure where the others got there information but that and the TV being 10 bit instead of 8 bit are the only differences with the display. Only other difference is the 9500 uses smaller materials than the 8500.
A: According to LG; only the UH9500 has "Uniscreen Technology," which is: that on the UH9500, the screen is practically edge-less. There is almost no bezel around the entire screen. Which is much more aesthetically pleasing as well as being lighter. You can somewhat see it in the pictures if you compare them side by side on a bigger screen.
