None better
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV will change the way you view all your home entertainment (pun intended). Console games look amazing as do 4K HDR Blu Ray discs as well as 4K HDR streaming content. While this TV does not get as bright from a 100% screen brightness it gets plenty bright in 2% and 10% windows to make specular highlights a revelation of what true 4K HDR content should look like. The new model (C9) has slightly better upscaling/processing it is also slightly less bright. The C9 also adds HDMI 2.1 but it’s not an 8K display so the only thing you are getting with HDMI 2.1 is 4K @120Hz capability (nothing I know of can even hit that framerate consistently and it probably won’t be available from consoles for the next generation either. This display make everything you seen before new.

Beware Of OLED Screen Burn-In!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased a open box LG 77" Class OLED C8 Series TV that was a display model in my local Best Buy Magnolia Room. The picture appeared to be fine in the store, but the first time I turned it on at home I found it had severe screen burn-in. After doing additional research online I discovered that OLED TV's are apparently HIGHLY susceptible to this issue. I am now in the process of trying to get a authorized LG warranty service provider to come out and replace the panel. It has been over 2 weeks since I contacted LG about this issue and I'm STILL waiting for a service technician to come to my house. My best advice is to do your research if you are considering buying a OLED TV. Apparently, screen burn-in is a real problem with this technology. When I called LG to report the problem they told me it is ONLY covered under warranty if determined (by LG) to be a "manufacturing defect"! You (the consumer) are at the mercy of LG (in my case) in making the determination if they will cover it. So, the take away is "buyer beware". Hopefully LG will do the right thing, but as of now I'm still waiting for someone to come out to look at the problem. Hopefully I'm not stuck with a VERY expensive paperweight!

OMG!!! Best TV EVER!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My husband and I tend to watch a lot of movies, TV, etc so decided to splurge on this OLED TV because of the stunningly beautiful clarity and color! We opted for the Geek Squad to deliver and install the TV so that the wires would be hidden and they could show us all the different options the TV offers. LG offers a unique program called Gallery which allows you have classic art or beautiful landscapes play while you're not watching a show or movie. The colors are so brilliant that many times the picture looks 3-D! The TV is thinner than our cell phones but it sure packs a punch with its display. Being a smart TV, our Netflix and Prime shows are instantly available. We also opted to have an ethernet cable put in so there is no delay or lag in getting our programs! Overall, I can't say enough about this TV! We are still in wonder at the quality!

ILG’S NEW 77″ OLED TV IS THE PERFECT PLACE TO WATC
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently upgraded our living room TV to LG’s new 77″ OLED with AI ThinQ® TV and the picture is incredible and the screen is HUGE…allowing for a total immersion where you literally feel like you are down on the field watching the game. I’ve just been blown away with all LG's advancements in the TV Space. Now the LG OLED TV Meets Artificial Intelligence with the AI ThinQ®. The TV comes with Google Assistant built in, so you can control compatible smart home devices using just your voice, allowing you to create a center for your smart home with your TV. For those of you that use Amazon Alexa devices, it works with those too. With simple TV commands you can change your picture settings, turn the volume up and down, search for movies and shows, and launch apps like Netflix, Hulu and more. I would definitely recommend this TV!

Top of the line TV!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Since the early days of flat panel TV’s I’ve been a 100% Samsung loyalist. Heading into a 2018 Black Friday TV purchase I was fully expecting to go with a Samsung QLED around the 80” range. This all changed upon a visit to my local Best Buy store. First and foremost, the hype is real, I’ve never seen a better picture on a TV than this OLED. From a personal rank order perspective, I’d say QLED is a half step above all other types of TV’s, and this OLED is a full step above QLED. When set up properly, nothing comes close. Some obvious disclaimers, your picture is only as good as the quality of your source. In playing 4K content off a dedicated 4K UHD player with UHD discs, this TV is truly in a class by itself. The picture is incredibly sharp, reproduced all colors accurately, and has none of the old school motion blur. I’d chalk those up in the “pros” column obviously. My utilization revolves primarily around sports in HD, movies in UHD, and gaming in HD. Simply, you will not be disappointed, there is no better TV out there. In terms of cons, I picked up this 77” LG OLED as a Black Friday price match special to a major online retialer, and picked up for almost half off of retail. Even with that, this TV is not cheap. With that said, you get what you pay for and there is truly no better picture out there. A second con, as one would expect, is that you really don’t want to rely on the built in speakers for sound. I picked up the TV about a week before I started putting together my theater room sound system, and I had to set the sound to 70 out of 100 for what I’d consider normal TV viewing. The strong recommendation here is a AV receiver and some sort of external speaker system set up. Worth noting, and hoping in saving some folks some grief, there is only one Audio Return Channel (ARC) which is built into HDMI 2. What this means is that HMDI 2 is the only input where sound can be transmitted via the HDMI cable itself. Maybe it’s a con that there is only one ARC channel, however, if using a home theater receiver you really only need the one. My receiver has an HDMI cable running from HDMI out on the receiver to HDMI 2 on the TV. All external devices (PS4, Xbox, UHD player, satellite, etc) all have an HDMI running from the source itself to the receiver. I’d assume most people know this, however, I initially assumed that audio return worked on all HDMI inputs for the TV and it initially cost me about ten minutes of head scratching and checking my connections until I caught my error. All in all, if you can handle the sticker shock, there is simply no better TV out there for picture quality. It is best in class, in a class by itself.

Perfection
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picture is amazing! I researched dozens of blogs, sites and YouTube videos by "experts" and visited several stores. I compared the LG with Sony and Samsung and decided on the LG. For every opinion for a particular brand/model, there was an opposing one...Nevertheless, the "eyes" have it and I'm extremely satisfied--and I haven't even had it calibrated yet; just a few more weeks of wear to go!

best picture on any tv
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.LG is the expert on OLED tvs. 77" is a giant tv; add to that perfect black and infinite contrast and you have the best picture you've ever seen on a tv. Expensive, but worth it. Good service from Best Buy for delivery and set up, also.

Stunning Picture Quality!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The deep inky black level of this set allows colors to pop in a life-life way that will make you forget how much you loved your old plasma TV. 1080p looks great and 4K looks absolutely stunning. The amazing picture quality actually gave me chills as I rewatched some of my favorite movies. (A little free advice - don’t share this fact with your significant other unless you want “The Look.”) I could not be happier with this TV. Bottom line - costy, but SO worth it!
