Q: Is there a water compartment for steam or does it use a hose?
A: It uses a hose & has a drying rack that's easy to insert & remove. My door opens to the right, but I think they said it can be set up to open from either side. I can't address your question re the size comparison.
Q: Eh at is the diferencie from gas dryer to electric dryer
A: Gas is cheap so you would save money instead of the electricity you would spend using the electric dryer. Ive had both in the past and they both seems to dry about the same length of time.
