Extends Velop mesh network as advertised
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Linksys - Velop Plug-In AC1300 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Mesh Extender to help the weak WiFi signal in my laundry room. My new LG washer and dryer has WiFi capability but my WiFi signal was being dropped of and on. After I set-up the Linksys - Velop Plug-In AC1300 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Mesh Extender in my laundry room, the connect has been solid with no interruptions.

Great addition
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great with my MX10 and MX5 system. This solved my problem of my 2 Alarm.com cameras being blind to the WiFi. Interface is not as easy to use as Apple but speeds are great.

Will Not Connect
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am running 4 nodes in my house, with 2 child nodes using a wired backchannel. I purchased this extender to fill out coverage in some hard to reach areas. This extender simply will not connect to my other Velop nodes. I tried multiple times and event went so far as placing the extender in the same room as the wired parent node and still no luck, only flashing red lights (time and time again). I will be retuning this product.

Posted .Hi, Jeff,
The Linksys WHW0101P is interoperable with all other Velop products. Thus, before you set it up, you must have the following ready: Existing Velop network with a parent node, Working internet connection and the latest Linksys app installed on your mobile device. You may try resetting the extender, and redo the setup process. You may refer to this link for step by step setup process: https://www.linksys.com/us/support-article?articleNum=316992. Let us know on how it goes so we can have this checked with our Escalation Engineers by sending this over email at LinksysCares@linksys.com with your contact info and the link of this review, for our reference.

Works as advertised!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As an addition to the mesh system, this work. I bought to add to an existing VELOP system, and it pairs and works great with the system even though it is not the tower style that the other three nodes are. Do beware that the MESH system is tricky to set up and Linksys is difficult to get help from. . conflicting tech support (this isnt unusual in the tech field Ive found) and often the advice is "unplug it and then plug it back in" - sigh. .5 stars for the individual product, 3.5 for the VELOP system, 2 for LINKSYS tech support (I was hung up on many times, including once in the middle of workarounds)

Keep Your Fingers Crossed
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am always trying to improve my network by making it faster and more secure. I have a three level town home which I am trying to cover completely in a mesh network. This is just one more device that I am trying to improve my coverage. I am still in the process of connecting everything and I have heard Velop has pretty good coverage. I will have to update this review at a later date once I have everything connected. I will be using this device along with several other devices to cover every corner of my home. I cannot take a slow network and I often find myself spending the money to try out new products. The thing that I hate is having to reboot a device after uptime of a few days I am hoping that with Velop I will not have to do this and and I can allow the device to run for a month or more without a reboot and again I will have to update the review at a later date to let everyone know my results. So in conclusion Velop has gotten good reviews and I am hoping that I can add to that but for now I am still connecting the devices .

Excellent expansion for Linksys mesh networks
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have 3 black mesh routers. Needed better signal inside and on opposite corner of a metal garage. Unlike typical two channel extenders, this integrated directly into mesh network as an extension node. The improvements were immediate and exceptional! Typically after shutting a door inside garage my phone would drop signal entirely. After installation I never drop signal and never drop below full bars. Setup was as easy as adding a node to network. No separate networks, passwords or sloppy handoffs. PSA for anyone experiencing one node drop often, I had similar issues. One node constantly dropped randomly. I moved it to my shed about 35’-50’ from nearest indoor node. (temp controlled computer lab...lol) I have not seen any loss of node function since! If you experience similar issues change location of nodes or move further away if possible. I have blanket full bar coverage across an acre including inside pole barn. I run 4 nest cameras several nest hubs along with many Wyze WiFi bulbs and other smart home devices with zero lag on 4g lte broadband at 40 mbps.

no-brainer just get it
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We already have the Velop tri-band three node set-up in our expanded cape cod house. It has a basement with Oled TV and PS4 gaming, main floor with den smart TV, and 3rd floor with 3 bedroom TVs, iPads, etc... The range of coverage could be spotty mostly because of signals having to penetrate beams, etc... Very good but not great. We also has spotty coverage on the backyard patio partly because of the signal blockage caused by old aluminum siding and cinder block foundation. We tried this easy to use and install device in a "soft-spot" inside the house and viola, excellent signal coverage. We also move it outside in the back patio when watching football with the TV and Roku device with no need for a cable box. Without this Velop device, the signal quality as per the Roku was "fair". With the Velop moved out there the signal quality was excellent. This is one of those devices that does what it says it will do. Best Buy also honored their own price matching policy when it went on sale a week after we bought it. What else do you need to pull the trigger? It also has a great warranty and tech support.

Q: QuestionI purchased the Linksys AC2200 Mesh WiFi Router. I’m considering purchasing an additional node but a little confused about needing a dual or Tri-band node. A little help please. loving my new router, works great and very easy to set up!
Asked by WifiGuy.
- A:Answer We got the "3 -pack" of the dual - band system for our multi-story house and then purchased a plugin for the garage. One of the "boxes" acts as the router and the others carry the 'signal' Works great for us. Can't tell you anything about the Tri but had been told it was better for improved streaming and such. Would advise checking that whatever you add is compatible with what your already have.
