Q: Can the backlt colors be set to only 1 color instead of rainbow? I want to do just red.
A: You have to install the Logitech gaming software app but yes, I hate the distracting rainbow myself, I set mine to a solid blue color instead, you can choose pretty much any RGB color any varying effects or just solid. Alternatively you could turn the lighting off completely. You cant control each key individually but you can set sections of the keyboard to different colors.
Q: Is the palm rest removable?
A: No, the bottom is a single piece and all of it is connected, there is no way to remove it barring physical damage.

Logitech Prodigy keyboard
My HP laptop keys started malfunctioning and I was unable to fix it at home. While I am not a gamer, I am an old guy who hammers the keys and felt that a keyboard made for gamers might withstand my heavy handedness. It is brand new so I have limited use on it, but I like the tactile nature of the keys. The wrist pad is very nice, too. I have included a picture. I suppose I am not the demographic Logitech has in mind (although I am a longtime, several model, fan of their mice) Having the keyboard where it is makes the screen the right distance away for me, too. My daughter will be jealous.

Awesome keyboard
It was a very easy decision since we have always used Logitec products, my son was delighted with the lighting and how soft the keys are to play as well as being very good user programmable.
