    • Image Sensor Type: CMOS (CCD and CMOS are the two main technologies used in image sensors. CCD, the older of the two types, turns analog light signals into digital pixels. This conversion happens without distortion, resulting in high-quality images. Newer CMOS sensors use transistors at each pixel to move electrical charges. CMOS sensors are typically less expensive, but also require more light to create distortion-free images.)

Q: Do you have to use the Ethernet cables supplied with the cameras. What kind of problems will occur if one use cat 5e cables already in location where the cameras are install?

A: The cameras use Cat5e UL Compliant (CM) Ethernet Extension Cables so if you already have those you could use them.

Q: Does the system come with cables to connect the cameras to the NVR?

A: Yes, the system comes with cables to connect the camera to the DVR.

Q: Where is the origin of the power source for each camera? How close to the camera does it have to be? Does the AC adaptor for the camera have to plug in close to the camera?

A: The cameras get power through the ethernet cable (POE). How long the cable can be depends upon the quality of the ethernet cable. But there is also a power connector on each camera if needed.

Q: What color are the camera's for this system? They look "silver/gray", however, description says "black".

A: The cameras are gray and the NVR is black. Our apologies for any confusion.

Q: Is this a totally wireless system? How are the cameras powered? Is there a video display screen in the box?

A: Not wireless. Camera are powered over the ethernet cables (POE). They also have an extra power plug on the camera that will not be required unless you have a long ethernet cable run and use low quality cable. Harder to install than wireless, but no camera batteries that need replacing and no interference from any nearby Wi-Fi that plagues wireless cameras.
