Q: can this be used as a surround sound speaker
A: Yes. I use a pair as my rear channel speakers. You can use a standard RCA wired connection, or use a DTS Play-Fi WiFi device, such as the Paradigm PW Link, which sends a stereo signal (in my case Left Rear and Right Rear). If you get one speaker, you can use it in Stereo mode (sending it both L+R surround channels). If you get two, you can set one speaker to Left, and the other to Right. I can also play audio wirelessly to the speakers from my iMac via AirPlay.
Q: is there any way to hang these?
A: This product is not recommended to be hung.
