Wow, they sound great!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went into Best Buy to look at B&W bookshelf speakers and the sales person also had me audition the Martin Logan's. These did sound good in store, but the real test was when I took them home. They have a 5 ohm impedance, so first question was whether my vintage amp would be able to sufficiently drive them and what they would sound like in my room. No issues driving them with my 55 watt integrated amp. Sound was amazing for a bookshelf speaker, much better than a smaller pair of Klipsch I had originally tested my setup with. The sound is clear and crisp, especially for string instruments. I listen to a variety of music and these don't disappoint. Now I wasn't expecting much bass given it's a bookshelf, but it's fairly decent, which is nice since I'm not planning to add a subwoofer. I would definitely recommend Martin Logan's and these I feel, are a much better value than the B&W's.

Outstanding sound and a great value at this price
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Super sounding speakers. I added four of these to my home theater system replacing some older mini sized Def Tech speakers. The clearance prices was a bonus. I also added two floor speakers that were also clearances priced. Now I can hear things that I never heard from my old speakers. They also sound amazing for music.

Best speakers you can ever get
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely it’s a underrated speakers ….. I love the sound quality…. I know sound is relative to individual liking and ears … I compared this to KEF LS50 meta and it outperformed in all aspects , KEF R3 sounded closer to this speaker… but it’s more than double this rate . I like sharp sounds with dynamics and clarity This speaker delivered it perfectly.. Gabriel from Best buy , Frisco Eldorado recommended to pair this with Sonos Amp and sub and believe me it’s the most simplistic and killer combination for the price point … later I also added two Sonos sl as rear end speakers and made surround sound of it … To be frank I don’t have words to explain my experience it wowed me every time .. the sound quality of ML with Sonos amp software capability is something can’t be matched

Vibrant Martin Logan Motion Bookshelf Speakers
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a 2-channel audio system in my bedroom and I listen to streamed music on a tablet and sent to an NAD 3020 amplifier via Bluetooth and also a CD player connected via digital coaxial output to the NAD. The previous speakers were Cambridge Soundworks bookshelf type and I felt they were a bit dull, dry, lifeless etc. I opted for the Martin Logan based on their more vibrant and lively sound and as I attribute to their Folded Motion tweeter. Another favorable aspect of this speaker is its high sensitivity and since in my case when considering that my amplifier is rated for 30 watts per channel. For a bookshelf speaker this size I didn't expect deep low end extension so as I had with my Cambridge Soundworks speakers, I augment the Martin Logans with a subwoofer. All I had to do was turn the low pass point up a bit on the subwoofer as the Cambridge Soundworks went a little lower since it's mid/bass driver is larger. All that tech-talk aside, I love the sound and presentation of these Martin Logan speakers. I do like a more open and lively presentation as opposed to most audiophiles who seem to favor "neutral". The upper frequencies sparkle and are detailed without being bright.

One of the finest speaker I've ever owned.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been in love with home stereo for over 60 years and have owned many speakers but this is my first Martin Logan and it's really special. All of the accolades about this speaker are true. The look of this speaker in red walnut is elegant and got high praise from my wife too. One of the first CD I played was the DMP sampler A Taste Of DMP. One of the tracks is a piano solo, Pannonica, by Andy LaVerne and it absolutely felt and sounded like the piano was in my room. For those unfamiliar with the DMP catalog they are all magnificent and reference quality.

Great speakers. Ribbons rock.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got these on clearance, sadly didn’t realize they were sold each (bookshelves are usually sold in pairs in my experience) so I got one for like $105 but had to pay $225 for the second one. Still a killer value since retail is about $1000 for the pair. I found out I really like ribbon tweeters. Love the finish. Love the build quality. Love the ribbon tweeters. Love the sound

Q: QuestionWhat would be ideal to power these? Or even one. An RCA to an amp?
Asked by Kevvo.
- A:Answer Hello. Thank you for your question and your interest in our products. We recommend amplifier power between 20-200 watts per channel. Typically the more power you provide the more efficient the speakers will be. It will also provide a cleaner current to your speakers while being easy on the amp. We also typically recommend 16 gauge speaker wire or thicker. We hope this helps and please let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks again and we appreciate your support.

Q: QuestionDoes Martin Logan sell a wall mounting bracket for this item
Asked by Jason.
- A:Answer I wish I could say for sure but they do have a quarter inch threaded hole on the back at the top and I can't imagine what else it would be for. Sorry I can't help more.

Q: QuestionHave an STR-DH190...it's only rated 6-16 Ohms for impedance...will I damage the receiver amp by trying to run 5 Ohm speakers? I imagine it will put a strain on it. I can return this receiver and buy something that drives 4 Ohm loads and has more power.
Asked by Macmyazka.
- A:Answer Thank you for your question and your interest in our products. Our speakers are compatible with 4, 6, or 8 Ohm-rated amplifiers and work with a variety of amps (including Sony). While we think there will be no issues (unless playing at high volumes or playing the speakers to the point of distorting), it's still something you have to consider. We have used Sony many times with our speakers. Having more power can provide the speakers with a cleaner current and put less strain on the amp. We hope this helps and thanks again for your interest in our products. We greatly appreciate your support.
