Q: What do the batteries do? Does it light up or make sounds- I am confused.
A: The reference to batteries must be in error. The product does not use batteries. It’s very high quality, however. There’s a heft to it. You’d almost suspect it’s made of vibranium.
Q: Is this metal and how large?
A: No, it is not metal. It is plastic and it is about 2 1/2 feet across.
Q: Is there any way to hang this on a wall?
A: Yes. Take some twine and tie it between the straps on the back of the shield. Then use a heavy picture frame hook. There are more complex ways of hanging it, but that did the trick for minimum cost.
