Do not waste your money on this!
I was really looking forward to being able to use this device to play my MP3s on my car radio during my commute. However this device did not perform as advertised. With both the MP3 volume and radio volume cranked all the way up, I was only able to here my music at a whisper level. No amount of adjusting the controls helped. What a let down.
I returned the product and bought one of those cassette player interfaces with the cords that hangs out of the player. Not as pretty or "cool" but it works and sounds great.

If you are looking for a great battery powered FM transmitter buy the Maxell Universal transmitter. It works great, I just purchased, it is easy to install and works great. The only bad thing that it works on 4 frequencies only, and these are really low: 88.1 MHz, 88.3 MHz, 88.5 MHz and 88.7 MHz. So make sure that your radio can be tuned to these frequencies, because if not you'll have to get another one.
I am overall satisfied with the product.

Bought one for long travels and was very disappointed that I couldn’t even hear the music. Don’t waste your money on this, get something that is actually proven to work.

This device could have been made better in my opinion. It has a big flaw and that is the range. I would consider other similar devices out there for this purpose.

Good Buy For The Money

I bought this a week ago and it works great in my house on my stereo. It broadcasts the signal from the stereo headjack all over the house just fine. In my car it plays my mp3 player on the car radio very well after I adjusted the position of the player on my seat. Seems that the signal is weak enough that the metal in the car can interfer with the feed in places. So you just have to adjust the position. At work I plug it into desktop and open the internet radio program (hundreds of stations to choose from), access my favorite jazz station and I get my music piped into the stereo radio across the store with no static in spite of all the expected problems such as florescent lighting interference. I could not ask for anything more for the price of this little gem.

I purchased this product for my iPod. When I first used this, I was extremely disappointed. I returned it the same day. The only product I would recommend would be from Dynex. Its twice the price, but worth it.
