Q: do i have to have a three pring plug on what i want plugged into this?
A: You cannot plug in three-pronged-plugged equipment to this unit without adapters, and I recommend NEVER adapting sensitive electronics to a two-pronged outlet. This unit is made for low-powered network equipment, which typically comes with two-pronged plugs.
Q: Will the battery recharge or once it is out of battery you have to buy another one?
A: It recharges itself once the power is restored.
Customers are positive about the battery backup, compact size, and affordability of this product, citing ease of setup and installation as additional benefits. However, customers are negative about the outlet type, noting the lack of grounded outlets, and the brightness of the indicator light. Many appreciate its small form factor, making it suitable for various spaces. The positive feedback on battery backup functionality is prominent.

These are nice for low wattage devices for which I want a longer runtime. I have three of these in service so far and they are performing well. However, there is room for improvement. 1. The outlets are not three pronged. They are only two pronged. This is a pain for some items you might want to plug in. 2. The unit emits a very bright green light at all times. I have found that many other devices are also designed with little concern for the amount of light they emit, making them unsuitable for certain locations (like bedrooms). 3. I find the outlets are too close to the side that has the slotted holes for wall mounting. It would be better if the outlets where both three pronged and centered front to back. For example, I use a WeMo switch in conjunction with some networking equipment for the purpose of power-cycling the equipment. The WeMo Insight is both three pronged and so large that it hits the wall (right on the WeMo power button) even though I have a board mounted behind my UPS as a spacer!

Set up is easy and worked as described. I connected my modern and router and charged the battery over 24 hours. Pulled the power cord to see how long the battery last. It gave a loud short bip both modern and router still working. After 2 hours still working.

When the power failed, it beeped once and then was silent unlike the other UPS which beeped on and on. Easily lasted about 10 minutes before power was restored. One problem is the power on light which is BRIGHT and would be overwhelming in a bedroom. The second problem is that it will NOT accept plugs which have a ground prong (3 prong). Some low wattage equipment have three prong plugs.
