The Ferrari of Chromebooks...
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll start with the elephant in the room and you probably now it by now and it is the battery. And I'll say that despite all the reviews saying 3-4 hours I was repeatedly getting 6-7 hours with the right setting, keyboard lights off or low and screen brightness as low as possible. I'll admit I don't like glaring bright screens they bother my eyes. So there is that. With that said just about everything else on the device is as close to perfect as you can get. The track pad is like butter, the keyboard although a bit shallow for myself is fantastic and even the speakers were surprisingly good. The build quality is nothing short of top notch. And..... .....and that screen is simply perfection. It is bright, clear and colorful unlike the HP 360 which I ultimately what I ended up with. I'll get to that later. I'll admit I do miss that screen. I'll add a side by side comparison photo. It is by far the absolutely the best screen on a Chromebook to date. If that is top priority then this is a no brainer. You can not beat it. The Acer 713 is probably the nest best thing when it comes to the screen. Other notes include a small, but useful pen/stylus which on this size device I just didn't see myself using. It is just to big and although it is amazingly light it is still too heavy and gangly to use as a tablet. Not to mention the apps support is sadly low. So, yes at 2.3 lbs it is very and noticeably light weight. And without the help of a fan the bottom did get slightly hot, but not that bad. What did get oddly hot was the lower side of the screen and that's as mentioned with the screen brightness on 20-30 percent. Again, not hot enough to bring up and concern, but warm hot. Okay, what's my final word on the Samsung Galaxy? If you want a near perfect amazingly built and put together Chromebook with a beautiful screen, built in included stylus, shallow keyboard, great track pad, uber fast internals then with just okay battery life then totally jump on this device, but wait the price. That's right the price is $999 or is it? Lastly, now that this device has gone on sale for $799 many times now and I know from my own experience you can get one on sale and add "open box-excellent" for as low as approx. $600 I have to recommend that is the way to go. And if you do you have an amazing Chromebook. So, why did I did I trade it for a HP x360 14c? Let me explain. I got the Galaxy for $600, but the HP went on sale for my price of $400 and with a good enough screen, same 8gb's of RAM, sadly 64gb's of storage which for is plenty as I work off the cloud and a plenty fast i3 processor the HP 360 does everything I need a Chromebook to do and because I saved $200 I was able to put that $200 towards a Lenovo Duet (which I'll review shortly). So, for the same price I was more or less able to have two devices. One for the desk and a tabletish device for everything else. And yes the Lenovo was more than $200 at $250 (open box-excellent). If not for having two devices I would have absolutely have kept the Galaxy. But, man I miss that screen! See comparasion photo to see lack of color on the HP 360 and also see my review on the HP which should post soon.

This is a very beautiful computer and it's fancy.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I finally got my laptop in the mail. It is really spiffy and if you love new a fancy, this is the one. It is also very fast. The only thing I don't like is that yes, I did get opened box, but I got the best and excellent condition one. Which wasn't much off of the current price and it has a dent on the top, very small, and the right hing is a little bit off. Like maybe it got dropped or something. I KNOW it was an opened box opportunity, but since I only saved like $50 instead of a brand new one, I'm thinking maybe I should have just got the brand new one. Other than that, it's a very, very nice computer. It almost feels like I'm using a phone. It's very delicate too. So if you're someone who is rough on your electronics, this is not for you. It does get really hot like the other reviews say but that's fine because I don't use it on my lap much anyway. I haven't used it long enough to say whether the battery lasts awhile but this computer is so thin that I don't think they had very much room for a large battery. I would say it's about as thick as a phone with a phone case on it. I got this computer for college because it's fast and with the stylus I can do my art class just fine. Another thing I don't like is that I can't turn the mouse pad into a scroll pad like on my other laptop. On my other laptop I can run my finger down the side of the mouse pad and it will drag the screen down. Yes I would recommend to a friend.

Excellent Premium Chromebook
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Samsung Galaxy Chromebook is not only an aesthetically pleasing device but also handles applications and even gaming with ease. The 10th generation Intel Core i5 processor coupled with the 8 GB’s of RAM is a great combination to run Chrome OS, Android Apps and Linux Apps! First one of the things that I am a little disappointed with on this device is the battery life! I feel at this price point with all the other wonderful components that make up this device Samsung should have used a battery that was capable of giving at least a full workday of power before having to reach for your power plug. Now for me this is not a deal breaker and I usually use my charger if I am going to be doing extensive tasks and or gaming! I understand that depending on a person’s use case scenario that this is unacceptable to some, but for me it was not a huge issue. However I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 because of this. One other thing that I noticed while using this Chromebook is in laptop mode and tent mode there is and ever so slight wobble when using the included stylus with the touchscreen! I would have liked the hinges to be a little more rigid and that would have prevented this issue. However it’s a trade off I tested another Chromebook prior to this one that had very rigid hinges and while it held the device steady it was very hard to open you definitely could not open it with one hand. So with that being said this issue is not a deal breaker for me either. Now for some of the things that I love about this device! The aluminum chassis is a huge plus the device not only feels great in your hands but it is also very light as well as portable! I got the Fiesta Red model and it is absolutely gorgeous! I love the squared off corners the device it is very aesthetically pleasing to not only the eyes but to the touch as well. No sharp edges! The display is one of the nicest displays that I have seen. I love thin thin bezels on the top and sides of the screen. The colors are vivid, it has good brightness and the viewing angles are excellent! Movies, Videos and Games all look great on this display! I was able to pair my wireless Xbox Game Controller to the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook via Bluetooth and it worked great! I tested a few games from Google Play Store as well as Steam on Linux! Asphalt Legends 9 looks great and ran very smoothly on this device. Oceanhorn also looked great and ran very smoothly on this device as well. On the Linux side I got Steam installed and tested a few titles. I had a copy of Bloons TD 6 that was for Windows and Proton ran it nicely on the Linux side of things the game loaded and played fine! I was able to play Civilization V and VI as well as Black Mesa! All of these titles played very well and I didn’t have to sacrifice the graphics settings! I am very impressed with how this device handled gaming! A lot of people say you can’t run a Office or you can’t play games on the Chromebook and that simply is not true! Even now with the advancements that have been made with the hardware and Chrome OS in general you can do almost anything on the Chromebook that you can do on a Windows laptop! The speakers and sound quality was not bad on this device as well. Music as well as speech sounds very clear and not muffled or distorted! The keyboard is comfortable for me to type on even though I have large hands! I’m not a marathon typist however I have no complaints as far as the key travel and overall typing experience goes! As far as heat goes the Chromebook did get warm to the touch while gaming but that is to be expected! I use my Chromebook on a desk or table so if you use it on your lap I can see where the heat could cause some discomfort if using your Chromebook for extensive tasks! Overall I am very pleased with the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook with the exception of the battery life or the lack of battery life! I would definitely recommend this device! But whether the device is one that works for you depends on the your use case scenario and whether or not your budget will allow for the cost of the device.

Great chromebook for everyday use.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first Chromebook so I decided to dive in to the deep end and the Galaxy Chromebook is everything I could ever need as far as it specs, durability, and touchscreen and stylus functions. Still adjusting to using apps as it seems some some aren't able to work outside of a base portrait display or function better just in a browser. Hopefully we'll see some updates that will improve UI on Chromebooks. I've definitely been enjoying the ability to completely flip the screen to take advantage of that 4K display for movies. As of yet, I haven't tried any heavy gaming on steam, but things through the app store have worked well. Looking forward to testing it out with my new 4K monitor. This 4K display is absolutely beautiful but a charge guzzler for sure. The brighter the display, the faster the battery dies with a pretty large difference in life expectancy. Through general use (internet browsing, streaming video, playing music, light gaming, etc.) You can get anything from 3.5 to 8 hours just off of display brightness. Maybe a tough ask for a student with no access to outlets, but if you do, the charging speed is excellent though the cable itself is only about 5 ft. (Sit next to the outlets people.) Look into a strong hub based on your port needs. The two type-c ports, a microSD slot and a headphone jack alone will only get you so far depending on your needs. Dual side speakers function better than expected. Overall it fits my needs for general work use, media consumption, and light gaming. I wouldn't be surprised if photo editing, and stadia functions worked extremely well but be aware that the device can get fairly warm. Tis a spicy boy under heavy use but does find a magical way to cool itself without fans. If you have the cash and are looking strong everyday cruiser this could be a great option for you. Just keep in mind your needs. Thanks!

Good machine esp. at $499!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been looking for a new Chromebook that didn't suck...and this one not only didn't suck, but it rocks. The design is fantastic, great screen and good keyboard. The weight is really low...I thought at first I wouldn't like it because of how light it is...but nope, love it. I am not a huge user of the stylus, but it works smoothly. The i5 is definately the way to go...super speedy and no lags. The one downfall is the battery life---but you have this amazing monitor and it sucks a lot of juice. So be prepared. I get maybe 4ish hours with the screen turned all the way up and can eek out another hour with some adjusting.

Premium Chromebook with some flaws
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is made premium. I am totally in love with the display and the build quality. Couple of things I hate - the battery and it overheats. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a premium Chromebook or a laptop just for browsing.

More Than The Average Person Needs
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this at 40% off and at that price, this was a good buy even for last year's model. That being said, this is probably more than the average person needs so the price was still relatively high; seems like Samsung agrees by making the current generation a step down. Regardless, this seems like a luxury high end ChromeBook that is a decent purchase. Pros: * Great 4k screen with small bezels * Fast performance * Chrome OS is relatively easy to use once you learn the differences from Anrdoid/Windows OS * Very eye catching & stands out from the crowd * Thin & light * Includes a stylus * Charges via USB-C which means one less proprietary less adapter to keep track of Cons: * Hinge is kind of weak and wobbles when you use the touchscreen * Priced a little high especially if you do no need such high specs * Battery life is fine but not as long as competitors due to the high specs I would recommend this ChromeBook (if on sale) but do recommend those having basic needs consider something that is not as high end.

Returned after 2 days, no streaming support for 4K
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Yes it's beautiful, yes it's thin, yes the screen is gorgeous and yes the battery will only last about 4 hours. I can live with the less than stellar battery life for the trade-off of the beautiful display. What I can't live with is that NONE of the media streaming apps support 4K playback. Yes, that's right Netflix, Amazon, Vudu, Movies Anywhere, Google Play Movies do not support 4K playback on this device. That's simply ridiculous. All your owned 4K movies play in glorious 480p, that's right 480p. There is no point in having this pixel-packed display that's battery hungry and only get 480p. Yes, you can watch YouTube clips in 4K but that's not good enough. I don't need a 4K AMOLED screen for emails and web browsing, I want it for the best possible media experience. I even emailed Vudu and they have no plans to support this device either. A major blunder if you ask me!

Q: QuestionWhy is the price so high compared to all the other Chromebook?
Asked by Belle.
- A:Answer You're paying for a premium build quality which include: 4K UHD display (the screen technology that Samsung uses in their high-end 4K TV's), built-in stylus, aluminum build, 10th gen i5 processor, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, and the fact that this Chromebook will be one of the many Chromebooks coming out later this year that will get software support from Google for 8 years, compared to the previous 5 year update policy. For a Chromebook, this is heck of a lot you're getting in a laptop running Chrome OS. If you were to compare all these specs running on a Windows laptop, you would for sure be paying $1,600 - $2,000.
