Q: 300hz screen or 240? Is this one of the better 3070 variants, or that crappy one that uses less power.

A: It's 300hz

Q: Is this laptop vr ready. The ads use to say it was, but not anymore. Have the specs changed?

A: This laptop is fully VR ready. I have an Oculus Rift S and it works perfectly with it. It has a 140W RTX 3070, a 1.4 mini Displayport, a HDMI and a type C port supporting 1.4 Displayport. All of which are wired directly to the 3070

Q: Does this contain one 32GB RAM stick or two 16GB RAM sticks? And does it have an empty SSD slot available?

A: IDK about the memory but yeah I think there is an extra empty SSD slot

Q: Is the Displayport 1.4 wired to the 3070?

A: Follow up answer to my previous one. I was in contact with MSI directly, no direct confirmation that the miniDisplayPort is wired to the 3070 (though I still believe that it is). But they did say that the USB type C port on the back (they were specific about only the one on the back) of the laptop will support the Oculus Rift S.

Q: Does this have an NVMe PCIe 3.0 or 4.0 in it?

A: This has 2 PCIe 3.0 M.2 drives

Q: It's been over 2 months since this laptop was added onto Bestbuy's website, and it's never once been available to purchase. How much longer do we have to wait? This wait is getting so tiring.

A: I managed to buy one at the end of March, but that was only after me refreshing this page every so often, every day for 2 weeks. It's definitely something you REALLY have to look out for.

Q: This laptop is upgrade to 64gb?

A: The RAM is upgradable. 64 gigs is the maximum I believe

Q: Are the memory and SSD upgradable?

A: Since this is a refresh of last years model with a 3070, yes. The RAM and SSD is upgradable.

Comprehensive Review
Alright, so I'm going to try to write the most comprehensive review I can to help with buy decisions. Since it can be a little unclear on what this laptop has or doesn't have. This is the MSI GE76 Raider 10UG-232: i7-10870H (8 cores, 16 threads) RTX 3070 8gb DDR6 Laptop GPU at 140W with 15W dynamic boost (Putting it in Max-P territory) 32 gb of DDR4 RAM at 3200 MHz 1 tb NVMe SSD 1920x1080 FHD panel (3ms response at 300Hz refresh) Bluetooth 5.2 4 speakers (2 side firing and 2 next the the keyboards) with 2 subwoofers Battery of 99.9W (largest capacity allowed by FAA on flights) Wifi 6E (basically wifi 6 taken up a notch) 280W charger 6.5 lbs (just the laptop) or 10 lbs (laptop with charger) RGB light strip on the front of the laptop (programmable through Steel Engine 3) Individual backlit RGB keys (programmable through Steel Engine 3) Ports 2 USB Type A 3.2 gen 1 (on the right side) 1 USB Type A 3.2 gen 2 (on the left side) 1 USB Type C 3.2 (on the left side) 1 USB Type C 3.2 with displayport 1.4 (on the back) 1 3.5 mmHeadphone + Microphone combo jack (What you'd find in phones) 1 HDMI 2.1 1 mini Displayport 1.4 1 Gigabit ethernet 1 SD card reader 1 Kensington lock Review: Build quality and keyboard: Very solidly built. The top and body are made of metal and gives the laptop a very rigid feel to it and keyboard flex is also very minimal. The keyboard itself feels very nice. Good tactile feelings to each press with enough key travel for you to know that you've pressed each key. The trackpad is rather small for the size of the laptop, but it's very responsive and does what it needs to. Though I'd recommend plugging in a mouse for long term use. The trackpad also doesn't have dedicated right or left click buttons, though you can click down anywhere on the trackpad for a left click. Performance: The 300 Hz 1080p IPS panel is SUPER smooth. If any game you play supports 300Hz refresh, I recommend switching to it. The 140W RTX 3070 also really pulls its weight here. Running pretty much all the games I have on maximum settings without really breaking a sweat. Say except for maybe Cyberpunk 2077. You may be more bottlenecked on the i7-10870H processor on more CPU intensive games, but it's not really enough for you to notice it while playing. Only when compared to other computers will that be noticeable. Thermals: Despite having an 8 core i7 and a 140W 3070, this laptop runs really cool. The preinstalled MSI Dragon Center gives you 3 different pre-set settings for fans. Silent, Balanced, and Max Performance. Silent keeps the fans running slow, so it'll naturally run hotter while gaming or doing other intensive tasks. Balanced is a very nice in the middle, this is where you'd stay if you don't game as often and use this laptop for other tasks. Max Performance lets the fans run as fast as they need to. They're loud but not too loud to interrupt your game even without using headphones. The GE76 also comes with Cooler Boost 5, which is the max fan setting for this laptop. It's usually only active if you choose the Max Performance fan setting, but you can always manually turn it on with the FN+F8 key presses. Max Performance setting also lets you play around with boosts to the 3070, if you want to fine tune the performance or squeeze out every last bit of power. RGB and Flair: The GE76 comes with a light bar strip on the front of the laptop, which is fully programmable through Steelseries's Steel Engine 3 (Preloaded on the laptop). Along with every key on the keyboard being individually backlit with full RGB support, also programmable through Steel Engine 3. Other than that, there are no RGB on the laptop cover or the back. So you can be as low key as you want with all the lights off or fully lit up with flashing RGB colors. Ports and Graphics: This GE76 has one HDMI, one mini Displayport 1.4, and one Type C connection supporting Displayport 1.4. All of which are wired directly to the onboard RTX 3070. Which means that this laptop if fully VR ready for whatever headset you have. In the MSI Dragon Center you can also choose to switch between Nvidia Optimus or using discrete graphics. Switching requires a restart. Though it doesn't have G-Sync, the 300Hz refresh screen means that you won't notice much screen tearing. So use Nvidia Optimus if you want to save battery power and discrete graphics if you want max performance in games. Battery: The 99.9W battery is a HUGE battery, but also keep in mind that this is a gaming laptop. A rough estimate (your milage may vary) is around 5 hours if you turn everything down along with running on Nvidia Optimus and 3 hours if you run with everything turned on with discrete graphics. Though these numbers don't sound great when compared to a Macbook Air or Surface Pro. They are better than average when compared to other gaming laptops. Upgradability: This GE76 comes with 32 gigabytes of RAM, 1 terabyte NVMe SSD and a Wifi 6E card. All of which are replaceable if you so like. You can upgrade to a max of 64 gigabytes of RAM and there are 2 NVMe SSD slots (one being taken up by the preinstalled 1 terabyte SSD). All you need to do is take off the bottom cover (same size phillips head screws) and they're all accessible to you. Final Thoughts: I thoroughly enjoy this laptop. It does pretty much everything that I ask of it and more. I personally think that MSI really knocked it out of the park this year with the GE76. And honestly for the price point, you'd be hard pressed to find a similar or better spec'd laptop. I would highly recommend this laptop, but I also encourage you to make that decision for yourself. I hope my review can help you with that decision.

All Around Beast of a Laptop!!!!!!
Hands down the BEST laptop I have owned. I got it for work but lets me play any game I want with AutoCAD running in the background. MSI has done a great job with this one at a price that beats anything else on the market.

Awesome Gaming Laptop!
This is the best gaming laptop I have ever had. I bought it for work as well as gaming and am satisfied with this beast of a machine. Would recommend it.
