Good GPU/ a bit over priced
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.upgraded from a 3070. This gen of NVIDIA is good but not great. The price is a bit much. And if you don't like RGB then this is a great pick up. For the price MSI could have at least included a little bit of RGB. As far as performance, my computer crashed a lot at first due to the GPU drivers having been corrupted after installing them fresh as well as over heating. They set up an auto fan run when the temps hit a certain degree, however by the time the fans kick in it is a bit late and it would crash. Had to do a work around in the BIOS to turn the GPU fan off of auto and set it to run at all times and to ramp up when under a heavy load. Overall not bad but still disappointed in NVIDA price hikes. Would have gotten an EVGA but they no longer make GPUs for NVIDA which is a big RIP.

Great card, despite NVIDIA's greedy little fingers
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a beast of a card. Yes, NVIDIA pricing is becoming ridiculous. Despite that, this is one of the cheaper 4080 cards you can get, and is also one of the smaller ones. This worked out perfectly for me, just barely fitting in my case due to my front mounted radiator. Installation was plug-and-play. The temps are super stable and I'm able to run most things on Ultra settings with no issues. It's also surprisingly efficient on power. I have a 750 was PSU, and it runs just fine. If you can catch one of BB's deals, this will do you just fine.

You get what you pay for - which is a lot!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While this was rather obscenely expensive, you do get a pretty incredible card capable of running basically any AAA game in maxed out settings on 1440p and many of them in 4K as well. I had originally purchased an RX 6950XT and thought I was smart to save the cash, but ended up instantly regretting the decision when I fired up the system and it had the worst coil whine from any card I have ever owned. I immediately ordered this 4080 and I can say it is 100% free of any audible coil whine (and I have a mesh case sitting right by my monitor on my desk). It's incredibly quiet, performs amazingly, and even though its fairly huge it still fits just right in my Fractal Meshify 2 Compact case. The 3-1 power adapter cable is a little clunky and smashes up against the glass of my case, but it works.

Powerful
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing speed. Destroys every game i have played in a good way. Only issue is the price and I should have gotten the RGB model to match my pc. This GPU need a lot of space.

Powerful, but too expensive.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very powerful, power efficient card that undervolts well. Unfortunately poor value compared to things like the 4090, which is also not a great value. I purchased this over the 4090 because I did not want to deal with connector issues, poor undervolting, and the difference between the two paid for a new 4k 144Hz monitor. Does 4k gaming at 100FPS no upscaling in most games, with most modern games reaching 100+fps with DLSS/upscaling. I would not recommend purchasing this card unless you use 2k 144Hz or 4K 144Hz, and have a 5800X3D or better. AV1/NVENC is nice if you record, stream, or screenshare a lot. Raytracing performance is powerful enough to use in basically every title. Undervolts nicely, coming in around 250W max load, with most games only pushing 175-200W power draw. Very cool card, both because the cooler is overbuilt, and the undervolt, never breaking 75C core / 85C hotspot.

NVIDIA RTX FTW
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The best bang for your buck in terms of performance and price compared to 4090. This card has great performance and at a reasonable price. Big leap from a 3070 Ti

Q: QuestionWhat’s the difference between this and the 4080 gaming x trio?
Asked by Father.
- A:Answer Unless you are a *super* enthusiast, there's no major out-of-box performance differences between any of the various 4080 brands or models. Some can be overclocked (given more power) to perform better than "stock" but that gets into territory that is far too deep a rabbit hole to discuss here. IMO - but the cheapest 4080 you can find from a brand you trust.

Q: QuestionWhat is the length of this GPU, it doesn't seem to be in the specs and I've seen the 4080s range from 310 to 350 mm in length
Asked by FrostyBae.
- A:Answer The RTX 4080 16GB VENTUS 3X OC dimensions are listed as 322 x 136 x 63mm (LxWxH)

Q: QuestionHow many 8 pin connectors do you need? I’m assuming it also comes with an adapter.
Asked by Naren.
- A:Answer You need 3 8pin PCIe connectors. These cards should all come with an adapter for 12-pin GPU to [3] 8pin PCIe connectors. Ideally you'll want 3 individual 8pin PCIe to 8pin PSU cables (one for each on the adapter) - but from what I've read nobody has had issues using only 2 (one cable for one adapter and then a 2nd "daisy chained" for the other 2)
