I had to check once since the cable company was having issues. Great price too for a combo. So far, it's been doing it's job perfectly.

Quality4 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:Price, Signal qualityCons mentioned:EthernetIts been just a month I have installed this NETGEAR wi-fi router with modem replacing the Xfinity rented ones. Undoubtedly it has reduced my bills by atleast $14. So far I haven't noticed any connection glitches. The wi-fi connection is consistent at both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. The first time setup was simple as well. You just need to follow the NETGEAR NightHawk mobile app and follow the steps. Also you have to login to your ISP account and activate the modem either online or by calling the ISP helpline. In my case I did that through xfinity mobile app. At this stage it took sometime after failing for initial couple of times but it was successful after those initial hiccups. Only downside I observed is that in xfinity if we use their rented modem router they give an option to select a common wifi name for both 2.4 and 5 GHz channels which is very helpful since it minimizes any disconnection due to network switches whereas if we use 3rd party modem router like NETGEAR then xfinity doesn't give that option to chose a common wifi name. The wifi name and other configuration needs to be completed in the NETGEAR NightHawk app and it does not give these options. For the price I paid I am satisfied so far. I don't know how it will perform in the long run. I am hopeful that with timely firmware updates this device should work as expected. I found a offer in Amazon for below $100 and opted for a price match at Best Buy and thus I got this NETGEAR AC1600 Dual band modem-router C6250-100NAS for below $100 including 3 years of Geek Squad replacement warranty. If I compare it with the xfinity one that I rented, the xfinity one is superior to this in terms of features like the xfinity one was made by Arris featuring 32x4 DOCSIS 3.0 modem with 4 ethernet ports, 2 tele ports for voice, 2 USB ports. But this one doesn't feature any voice port, it has only 1 USB port and 2 ethernet ports. So you should check your requirements as well. If you had a phone or fax connected to your modem earlier then this is not for you.

Another Great Cable Modem Router from NETGEAR
Posted .Pros mentioned:Set up, Signal quality, SpeedI’ve received this cable modem for free to review and test for NETGEAR’s First Look Review Program. It’s great to be part of this Program and will be giving all honest reviews throughout my participation with this program. ~First Thoughts~ Another Great Cable Modem Router from NETGEAR I received this modem within two business days straight from NETGEAR, upon receiving the box I immediately opened the product to inspect and review the condition that I’ve received to inspect the cable modem just in case there was an issue but I didn’t find one. ~Setup~ The setup for this modem was very easy and straight forward process. I do currently own a few NETGEAR modem/router’s that I’ve either purchased or received as part of NETGEAR’s First Look Review Program. Always have to swap modems with Comcast whenever I do this and never have an issue doing that with them. I’ve had pass experience with NETGEAR Modems & Routers so using the NETGEAR Genie was a breeze and almost any user that is new with any product that NETGEAR produces will have a very fast setup process so just follow the steps provided. ~Features~ The features of this modem are great for what you get as a modem & router that can compete against other 16x4 modems. 16x4 Channel Bonding - 16 Downstream channels and 4 Upstream channels allowing for a better connection & usage. This means I’ll enjoy full connection with the Comcast Servers while at high peak usage hours in your town when everyone else is connected to the same node you’re on. It has great Wi-Fi range that works throughout my house with little loss of signal with it’s built in router compatibility. ~Performance~ You’ll enjoy downloading things faster over DOCSIS 3.0 from the higher bandwidth speeds that your cable provider can provide to you after they’ve done their network upgrades on their end. The 16 Downstream bonding channels will future proof yourself until your cable provider provides 16 channels in your area along with the 4 channel bonding for the upstream. While in some other regions they already have 24x8 channles. ~Did Product meet my expectation?~ As they always do!! This modem is great for anyone. Everything depends on what you can afford and if your cable company can provide the speeds to you. ~Price-value~ The price that they’re asking for is a bit expensive at $ 169.99 for a DOCSIS 3.0 modem with 16x4 channels bonding only. Honestly it should be priced at $139.99 if this was the only modem I could afford at the time. ~Would I recommend this modem to my friends and or a family member?~ I would recommend this modem to any one of my friends while this type of technology is still supported. Attention: “I’ve received this NETGEAR AC1600 WiFi Cable Modem Router (C6250) free from NETGEAR’s First Look Review Program”

Q: QuestionWill this modem act as a direct REPLACEMENT of the Comcast cable modem? I want to replace my Comcast equipment with my own cable modem and wireless router.
Asked by DJ.
- A:Answer Yes, this is both the modem and router in one unit, and it works with Comcast (the service I have) as well as most other cable internet providers. Please note that there is a different model for DSL users who have AT&T or another DSL service.
