Q: is this system set up for remote viewing as well?
A: Once you have our App downloaded and configured on your Smart Device, you will be able to view your system from anywhere in the world. Keep in mind, you must have your device connected to the Internet in order to view remotely. Additionally, please note that Internet speeds will affect your ability to view from a Smart Device (Smartphone, Tablet) or Computer (PC or Mac). A: Unfortunately, Night Owl is not able to guarantee compatibility with any 3rd party brands. Often, cameras of the same technology will function with our systems, but we make no assurances. We can only ensure that our products will function with compatible Night Owl product. We apologize for any inconvenience.
A: Yes, it has night vision up to 100ft. With enough ambient light it also has color night vision.
Q: does required internet. I prefer not internet?
A: Only requires internet if you want to be able to have remote monitoring and notifications. You can use a local username/password and not connect it to the internet.
Q: How long are the wires for the cameras ?
A: The coaxial cables for the cameras are 60ft long.
A: Each camera comes with a Video/Power cable. You will connect one end of the cable directly to the cables coming from the camera. The other end will be run back to the DVR. One portion of the cable will connect to an open video port on the rear of the DVR. The other portion (red power portion) will connect to one leg on the 4-way splitter, which connects to a camera power adapter, which you would connect to a power outlet near the DVR. One camera power adapter, powers up to 4 cameras. Thank you!

Q: Does this system record audio as well? If not could you recommend one that does.
A: DO NOT BUY ANY NIGHT OWL PRODUCT! I have over a $1000 in a commercial Night Owl Camera security system. I purchased from Best Buy October of 2019! It took over 2 months to get it connected and up and running! I had to hire a local company to get it loaded and they also had issues!!! Night Owl tech support is none existent! When you actually get a warm body, you can’t understand them and their English is EXTREMELY lacking! I have an iPhone and the system will hardly ever load on my phone.... like it’s supposed to!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON ANY NIGHT OWL PRODUCT!
