    • Magnification: 8 times
    • Objective Lens Diameter: 42 millimeters (Generally, the larger the diameter of the objective lens, the greater the light-collecting power and the brighter images will appear.)

    • Field of View at 1000 yards (Maximum Magnification): 420 feet (The area of a target at minimum zoom, measured horizontally from the location of viewing, that can be observed.)
    • Close Focusing Distance: 16.4 feet (The closest distance the user can be from an object to obtain a clear, focused view through the lens.)
    • Angular Field Of View (Apparent/degree): 58.4 degrees (Measurement of the angle of the magnified field seen through the lens. The greater the number, the wider the field of view that can be seen.)

    • Size: Mid Size
    • Folding Design: false
    • Lens Tint: false
    • Prism Type: Porro (Prisms ensure the proper horizontal and vertical orientation of the view. There are two main types: roof and Porro. Roof prisms, typically more expensive than the alternative, have a more streamlined design due to their glass elements being in line with one another. Porro prisms, though they contribute to a larger form factor, typically provide a wider field of view than roof prisms.)
    • Tripod Mountable: Yes
    • Exit Pupil: 5.3 millimeters (The diameter of the beam of light that travels through the lens to the user's eye. Generally, the larger this measurement, the greater the relative brightness and detail of the image.)
    • Lens Coating: Multilayer coated (Chemical coatings on a lens reduce reflective light loss and improve light transmission. The different coating levels indicate the number of anti-reflective layers and the lens surfaces to which they're applied, ranging from coated (the most basic) to fully multi-coated (typical of high-end optics).)
    • Focus System: Center (The most common binocular focusing system is center focus, which features a centered wheel or lever (InstaFocus) between the barrels, and usually additional diopter adjustment. Individual focus binoculars allows each eyepiece to be adjusted independently.)
    • Eye Relief: 12 millimeters (The maximum distance between the eyepiece lens and user's eye at which the full field of view can be seen.)

Q: What comes with the binoculars?

A: The binoculars come with a neck strap and case.

Q: Do these binoculars contain any harmful materials?

A: The Eco-Glass lenses offer clear images without using arsenic or lead.

Q: What is the field of view for these Nikon binoculars?

A: These binoculars have a field of view of 420 feet at 1000 yards.

Q: Are these binoculars compatible with a tripod?

A: Yes, they are tripod adaptable with an optional adapter (not included).

Q: How far away can I see clearly with these binoculars?

A: These binoculars offer 8x magnification.

Q: can each eye be focused separately?

A: Both eyepieces are focused together with the center focus adjustment. However, there is an easy way to adjust the right eyepiece to compensate for differences in your eyes. You look through the binocular at a distant object and focus it for your left eye with the center focus wheel WITH THE LENS COVER STILL ON THE RIGHT SIDE LENS. So you are actually looking through the left side of the binocular only, with your left eye, only. Next, you put the lens cap over the Left Lens and uncover the Right Side Lens. BUT ---- DON'T touch the center focus wheel at all. Instead, while looking at the same object, twist the right eyepiece clockwise or counterclockwise a small amount until that same object you were looking at with your left eye is in focus with your right eye. The twisting might be a little tight, but will move maybe 1/4" each way. You'll see under the right eyepiece there are small symbols such as a + 0 - or something like that. Your best setting will be at the center or on one side or the other. You should always keep this "offset" set in the same place so both eyes will focus correctly. It sounds a little complicated, but you can do it. Give it a try a couple times and you'll see how it works. Enjoy.

Q: What is the best "power" of binoculars to bring an object close at 500 yards? Example: 10x42, 12x50, and others. I look at ships that are 100 yards away or more and want to see up close in the wheelhouse.

A: The 10x42 size binoculars will give you the same reach you need as the 12x50 size but are more convenient to carry as they are lighter in weight. The 10x42 also allows for less eye-strain than the 12x50. Both of these binoculars would be a great choice as they each provide the magnification reach for the distance you are asking about.

Q: what are the dimensions and weight of this product ?

A: The Aculon A211 8x42 is 4.6 x 7.3 x 2.4" (Length x Width x Depth) The weight of the model is 24.2 oz.

    Love these

Love these binoculars! I bought them for an Alaska cruise and loved loved them. I however enjoy themmore watching my grandson playing football. They let me see the plays up close. My daughter wanted a pair unfortunately i bought the wrong ones. So I returned hers and bought these again for her. Pay attention Andrew Tapia
