Best protection
The case takes away from the slim design of the phone but still fits nicely in my back pocket. Being in construction this is the best way to protect my investment.

Love the Case
I love the case it protects the phone. I will recommend that you have a screen protector on the phone. I wish it had the screen protector cover. It protects your phone well. I dropped it and nothing broke.

Provdes protection at the expense of a USB-C cable
The Otter Box Defender series provides the kind of rugged protection one would expect from the Otter Box line - that said, the USB-C charging cable cover has a high torque to want to be in the closed position (making it seem waterproof, however, the entire section to its right to access the S-Pen is open and ergo not-waterproof so the need for the USB cover seems slightly arbitrary. I had a USB-A to micro-USB cable that had a USB-C cap adapter to go on top of the micro-USB plug. After one week of use, the constant pressure of the Otter Box Defender USB-C cover pushing on the USB-C cap adapter broke off the adapter from its plastic housing. I now "undress" the bottom half of the Otter Box when I decide to charge my Samsung Note8 so the USB-C cover does not come into play (and thus having my phone temporarily in a semi-protected state). Overall, I'm happy with the case (I find the Samsung Note8 to be slippery with its finish, narrow tall shape and somewhat hefty weight) despite my "solution" to the USB-C cable charging issue
