Great Headphones for the Quality & Price

When I first saw these headphone, they stuck out to me due to the lower price for the quality. Plus, I like the style: they are stylish but not overdone (like beats for example). I knew I wanted an effective pair of headphones not just a fashion piece.
Once I put these headphones on, I knew they were my first choice immediately. The overwhelming comfort and deep, rich sound was exactly what I was looking for.
These headphones are more comfortable and sound much fuller than many of the other phones I tested. I truly do recommend these headphones to everyone I know.

I've owned this headphone for about a month now. I really enjoy it. When I was shopping for headphones I tried on many. I am not a finicky audiophile, but I did look at some high end Sennheisers and Dre Beats. I wanted something with a smooth midrange, as I listen to a variety of music as well as audiobooks and news radio. I also like to listen for quite a while when I have them on, and use them while working in my woodshop (which helps drown out the noise from power tools -- and yes, I'm very careful to wear the cord inside my shirt so it doesn't get caught in the tool).
So far I'm pleased with the sound quality, and VERY pleased with the comfort. Of all the headphones I tried on, I thought the Skull Candy Aviators were the most comfortable for my head, and I liked their style the best, but at twice the price I figured I'd give these a shot. I'm glad I did. I think the durability is probably greater as they have a stretch headband which is comfortable, lightweight, and flexible. The cord also is a nice feature that the Aviators didn't have: while both have nylon instead of plastic around the wire (greatly reducing kinking and coil/tangle problems), the Philips detach near the headphones. I'm clumbsy and each pair of headphones I've ruined in the past occurred because the cord got caught on something as I stood up and it loosened the wire at the device or the headphone.
Lastly, they're sound reducing, not noise reducing. This means that there is no electronic noise reduction, just that the headphones wrap snugly around your ear and block sound out. For that, they do a pretty good job. I bought some serious noise reducing headphones (for working with my powersaw, and shooting guns) from Lowe's that were rated at -30db. They worked GREAT, but created a vacuum around my ears and were very uncomfortable. I've run my table saw with the Philips headphones on and it helps quite a bit (maybe -15db??). Plus, they're 100% more comfortable than the hardware pair from the home supply store.
So all in all:
* Great fit / comfort
* Good sound quality
* Good durability
* Detachable cord
* Good price (I paid $80)
* Decent (not great) noise reduction

I bought these headphones about a month ago for a nice price of 45 dollars. I must admit they are worth much more than that.
The sound quality is rich and great on all side. I'm a metal lover and listen to lots of metal. I really wish there as more bass, as I'm a freak about having that punch in my ears, but I changed the EQ on my ipod to a bass booster and it's amazing.
It could also be louder, but that's what metalheads say about all headphones.
These are indestructible. They have been sat on three times (we aren't a heavy family, but still) and they show no signs of damage.
They are very comfortable as well (don't wear earrings with them though) and I do exercise feverishly in them. They stay on well though they aren't tight. The stretch changes to meet the size of your head.
When exercising, you really have to turn it up all the way which is my one complaint.
I have never tried different over the ear headphones, but these rock better than the on-the-ear ones.
I totally recommend these. I spent four days researching all sorts of headphones, both over-the-ear and on-the-ear headphones, and finally bought these.
As for noise-cancelling, I don't listen to anything slow. I can never hear anything anyways with my music, but with no music on everything is REALLY muffled. I don't think you could hear anything while playing music.
I do think other people around me can hear my music, but again I play my metal all the way up.
BUY THESE NOW.

Best headphones I've tried for <$150

I'm not an audio engineer, but I do have an electrical engineering degree and am involved in professional audio products for broadcast markets, so I do understand what separates a decent sounding set of headphones from a great set.
Before deciding to purchase these Philips O'Neil Stretch headphones, I looked at many sets from other manufacturers. The Philips headphones were late entries into the models I was looking at - I stumbled onto them on the Best Buy web site and the reviews seemed to indicate they were worthy of consideration. Other than these, I was looking at SONYXB-700, the Panasonic HC720 and several Senheiser models. All of these are under $150, which is the maximum I was willing to pay. My goal was to find an <$100 set that sounded better to me than sets costing much more than $100.
I evaluated these headphones under the following criteria, which are the most important to me, in order:
1. Around-the-ear fit and comfort
2. Balanced (firm, punchy bass, good realistic mid and high range) sound delivery for the type of music I list to most (Alternative / Rock, Jazz)
3. Fit on my head
4. Durability as I will be using these a lot in the office, at home, and on business trips
Luckily for me, my local Best Buy store had these headphones, and several others I was curious about connected to an in- store display with the ability to quickly compare various genres of music on each set.
I'll cover my criteria in turn:
Fit / Comfort: Around-the-ear fit and comfort of these is amazing. At the Best Buy display, one thing that stood out was the different fit among the different sets. All the other headphones used an adjustable strap for fit. This is the traditional method of adjustment, and frankly, it has always been a bit of a pain to attain a good fit every time I put the headphones on. The Philips O'Neil Stretch headphones, however, use a clever means of a strap that sits on the top of your head, and as that is snugged lightly down onto the head, and the ear cups positioned around the ears, the headphones just magically mold themselves into a firm, but very comfortable fit ib all areas. I thought they felt great in the store, but now that I have been using these headphones for a week, they are honestly the most comfortable headphones I've ever experienced. Also, they fit perfectly every time, there is no fighting with adjustment clips on each side, with one always being higher or lower than the other. The cushions fit around my ears perfectly and don't become uncomfortable with extended use.
Sound Quality: This is probably equal to my number 1 criteria above. All I can say is - these sounded the best to me of all the headphones on display that were under $150. In my opinion, they sounded just as good as the Bose Clear Comfort headphones that were also at a different store display. The bass is solid and tight, mids are clear, and highs are crisp. I listen to a lot of alternative music with a broad range, and these headphones handle everything just fine. Several reviewers mentioned flat sound. I believe this is because there is some kind of an issue with their device being out-of- phase, which is a connection issue. I have had this happen on my Android tablet, and have solved it with a cable adapter. Search for "9in23cmeaexc" on Google to find more information on these.
Sound isolation of these is really good, almost equal to noise cancelling, without the decrease in sound quality. Also sound leakage is minimal, which was also important to me.
Durability: I have had these for about two months and after much use at work, there is no noticeable wear at all. They are made to handle the rigors of snowboarding, apparently, and although I am not a snowboarder, this is probably going to help them to endure whatever abuse I dish out. I love the stretch cable design as it does not tangle and seems very durable.
The only downside I see to these is lack of a protective case. I am using a binocular case which fits these well, but I would have gladly paid $10 more if these came with a custom fit protective case.
Bottom line - I have found these to be one of the best value purchases I have made, and definitely the best sounding and fitting headphones I have ever owned.
Kudos to Best Buy for having many models available for in-store comparison of sound and fit quality.

I'm a music producer owned all kinds of headphones from Beats SoloHD Sony 7506 panasonic ht7s none can really compare. To these. While the bass isn't head rattling it is a Very Accurate bass and there is a very clear mid and high range. The build is also amazing these things seem unbreakable. The cord is also a very nice plus. I really can't complain. Also super comfortable Compared to the overrated over priced beats solo hd which I own these are a def choice at less than half the price.

So here is the story:
I bought the Red pair of these headphones about half a year ago, and mistakenly BROKE the headband by...well...STRETCHING them a little too much. Today, however, I decided to buy them because its the day after BF and for $39, it should be a steal because i LOVED my old ones. Well...i was right. I don't know if it is a new SKU, but they OUTPERFORMED my old ones! The Highs, Mids, and Lows were all up to par, and the bass...bass, bass, bass. Let me just say, believe it or not, BUT IT ACTUALLY HURTS! Not in a complaining way and not that it drowns out the rest of the music, BUT ITS FANTASTIC! Probably BETTER than the "Critically Acclaimed" Beats by Dr. DUFUS. I mean, CMON! 500 BUCKS??? YAH GOTS 2 BE KIDDING! And comfort, lets not forget that. VERY COMFORTABLE. PERIOD. Self-Adjusting headband? Yes. Super-Comfortable Cushions? Sure. Durable? By GOD yes. One word: TR55LX. Look it up. Amazing stuff it is. Bottom line: Just get 'em. They are even worth the original $80. I would've even bought them at that price! Just try them, you WILL NOT be disappointed.

Those headphones have alot of bass. I use them with a PSP 3000, a 5.1 Logitech X540, and several computers. The amount of bass it has is like having your ear next to a subwoofer! Plus they fit all sizes and they are very durabile. I tried twisting them, putting them under presser (in tight bag), and bending them. They while not break very easily. Yes it is expensive but they are great! When you put them on and listen to music, its like you're there in the recording studio. Also one more thing- When listening to music, and you talk, you will not hear yourself talk much. These headphones drown out any backround nosie due to being sound isolated headphones. If you want serious bass, and no backround noise, get these. Sound isolated means they drown out backround nosie physically while not even messing with the audio feed, so in return, they produce higher quility audio then most headphones with noise cancelation. Also it has a detachable cord. There are very comfertable too.

Amazing headphones for what you pay

Okay these headphones are definitely an amazing value. With these headphones you really get more than what you pay for on many aspects.
The sound quality is great and when it comes to some of the important things of sound like bass they really can hold their own. But the bass doesn't over power the mids and highs but the bass is still really deep. I have had these a while now and I listen to pretty bass heavy music and usually the headphones may get that annoying rattle in them but I have yet to hear any rattling come out of these headphones.
On to durability. These are really durable headphones you could bend these things in every which direction and they will not break but don't push it because everything has their limits. Also well lets face it we have all dropped a pair of headphones at least once and sometimes one time is all it takes but actually it was my brother knocked them off my desk and they still do extremely well.
Now to comfort, with these headphones the comfort is superior to many pairs of headphones that I have owned there have been many times when I have worn these for hours on end and I have never experienced that kind of numbing ear pain that you may get with other headphones and the deep cup of the headphones makes your ears not touch any plastic of them so that is another plus and well I have sort of big ears so ha, that's going to probably say a lot about comfort.
And last, The headphones aren't listed to be noise canceling but they are darn close to it. I can't hear anything in the outside world when I have these on.
