Zep's "Presence" is the absolute underdog in their catalog. Upon first few listens, the album sounds startlingly unfinished. But as time passes on, that weakness becomes a major strength. The shorter songs may not rock as much as one would wish; in fact, those songs have more in common with funk than rock. But go into "Presence" for the epics: if you're not completely blown away by the proto-thrash of "Achilles' Last Stand", the paranoid desperation of "For Your Life", the messy self-loathing of "Nobody's Fault But Mine" and the bluesy despair of "Tea for One", you're really missing what Led Zeppelin's all about.

Although this album is not their best, it sure does pack a punch. The bonus disk is nice to have as an addendum to the album proper and great to have for the minimal extra cost. Despite the well known tracks being the usual favorites, I prefer the last track "Tea For One" over the others. To me, this is a very underrated and much overlooked track. It's bluesy (to a point) but subtly dreamy as well, especially the slight fade out, fade back part. This album is worth the price as a re-mastered album alone but with the bonus disk, it's a must-have for anyone who enjoys a very nice '70's album.

May be one of the most under-valued albums in Led Zep's catalog. This is one of the funkier and stripped-down albums by the band. Just guitars, bass, drums, vocals, and some harmonica with little, if any, keyboards on the original 7 tracks. There's a second CD of interesting demos and different takes of the original songs, as well as, some previously unreleased tracks. Jimmy Page oversaw the remastering process himself.
