Synopsis

Reluctant time-traveler Dr. Sam Beckett (Scott Bakula) certainly gets a workout "leaping" from one person's body to another during the inaugural season of Quantum Leap -- and so, by extension, does Sam's holographic observer-advisor, Al (Dean Stockwell). The first episode, "Genesis: September 13, 1956," was originally telecast as a two-hour movie, and has since been seen in a 90-minute version, and divided into two separate episodes for syndication. In this installment, Sam leaps into the body of a test pilot with a pregnant wife and then becomes a minor-league ballplayer (though not, it should be noted, in the 90-minute abridgement). Subsequent episodes find Sam coming face to face with the girl he almost married back in 1972, and also inhabiting the bodies of a boxer, a veterinarian, a teenaged hot-rodder, a black man in 1950s Alabama, and a Bogart-like private eye who, D.O.A. fashion, is investigating his own murder. And in one of his trickier "assignments," Sam becomes a mob hitman...who has been hired to kill Dr. Sam Beckett! ~ Hal Erickson

Excellent Television Program Of It's Time

Excellent season 1 and 2 combo. The television program of it's time is about scientist Sam Beckett that leaps nationally through the USA to fix what was wrong in society and turn it right. Every episode is about an hour long that gave me enough satisfaction in season 1 with nine episodes however in season 2 there are more in depth episodes that leaves you with more satisfaction that you bought the combo instead of the complete set. The combo set gives one enough time to go over seasons 1 & 2 without rushing through the series. Seasons 3, 4 and 5 will be in my near future of analyzing.

This show is aging, but it still strikes a note with its fan base. As time-traveling series go, one of the best in my opinion. It will make you happy!!
