- Answer Unfortunately, it's on the back. They provide a USB cable with the unit, and it is either left dangling under the dash or the glovebox.

- Answer Yes, you can. I was going to have them install a backup camera on my Jeep Wrangler, while I was getting this radio unit installed. The backup camera which was compatible with my Jeep cost around $100, but they were going to charge me the full installation cost of $130 as well. If you have the Geek Squad plan that gives you discounts on installation you can save money. I didn’t want pay the $130 installation cost for the $100 camera.

- Answer If I'm not mistaken, in order for the DVD to work, the car has to be in Park, and in some cases the Emergency Brake needs to be engaged.

- Answer Yes! You would need to purchase a SIRIUS tuner & other items of which I wasn’t told I needed by the Best Buy customer service guy who help me in selecting all I needed to upgrade my stereo system in my truck. I was told after the fact when the installation was being done which took another week & my time I can never get back to complete installation. Don’t try calling Best Buy to get answers. No one ever answers the phone & the girl who answers to connect calls is so rude! Good luck.

QuestionMy Jeep 2016 patriot does not have WiFi. Is WiFi necessary for CarPlay to work? I had the unit installed at bestbuy and car play is not automatically happening when I hit the mic button like in all tutorials. I am connected via Bluetooth.

- Answer You need to connect to the receiver’s usb with your lightening cord. I am pretty sure Car Play won’t work with Bluetooth.

QuestionWill this unit display the Album art when playing purchased music from iTunes? How does Waze work? is it a built in app?

- Answer In order for Waze and the album artwork to work, you have to plug your iPhone into the usb cable. Waze is an app on your phone that is CarPlay compatible. I use it and love it. The album artwork is the same as what’s on your phone.

- Answer Hi I purchased the AVH-1550NEX 3 1/2 weeks ago, but just got it installed today at Best Buy (Only Appt available). I do have an Apple iPhone. The installer informed me that for Carplay to work (ANdroid equivalent) it must be plugged, will not work off Bluetooth. Regarding GPS or Apps (Waze, Google Maps), the installer told me that even though your phone is plugged in, if you press the GPS icon, the Pioneer defaults to Apple Maps, not Google or Waze (you have to press their respective Apps to utilize them. I assume Android users GPS default is Google Maps on their phones, but what I'm not sure is if Pioneer defaults to the phone's default GPS or just to Apple Maps in general. Hope this helps, wish I could be more definitive in my response. If I learn something new, I'll follow up. Have a good one.

- Answer Not sure what you mean by “wit doesn’t work”. Apple CarPlay works fine with this unit. I have had this for about a week. Noticing two issues which can be a bit annoying but getting used to it: 1) while WhatsApp is present in Apple CarPlay, Siri shortcuts for example WhatsApp calling shortcuts do not work while Apple CarPlay is on (phone connected by wire). They work when the phone is connected to the unit via Bluetooth. 2) If Apple CarPlay is on and you get a call, if you accept the call via Apple CarPlay screen, it works fine but if you accept the call from the steering commands on the car (if your vehicle had Bluetooth calling via steering commands) the unit turns off and turns on again after the call is over. So getting used to not instinctively accepting the call with the steering commands. Thinking of getting it checked at Best Buy to see if settings can be adjusted.

- Answer I paid about $100 for the cameras. The install was figured into the total cost of the install for the system, so not sure the exact amount just for the camera. The total cost for the system with back-up camera and install was just over $1000. It was well worth it for me.

- Answer Yes. I installed this stereo in my 2013 Jeep Wrangler JK along with a backup camera. Steering wheel controls work great. No problems.
