  • QuestionDoes it automatically turns off power when not in use to conserve energy?

    Asked by Hayb.

    • Answer Unlike the Monster “Green Power” surge protector with controlled outlets - this APC surge protector model, does not have controlled outlets that shut down when not in use. Plenty of outlets for a MAC, PC and peripheral devices. All devices continue to draw power with protection working indicator illuminated. Currently used in a home office.

  • QuestionDoes this have non switches

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Only switch is the on/off button, and cover plates to keep dust out of non-used plugs, if you would call them that. Hope that helped.

  • QuestionIs it electrically rated for 120 volts AC and 15 amps?

    Asked by MP.

    • Answer The APC P11U2MP10 is indeed electrically rated for 120 volts AC and 15 amps. However, we comply with the NEC 80% rule, as outlined in the National Electrical Code (NEC), which states that the continuous load should not exceed 80% of the circuit's overcurrent protection device rating. This helps to prevent overheating and potential hazards due to continuous high current draw. The surge protector's overload indicator LED will be illuminated when the unit is loaded 12 amps (80% of 15 amps).
