• A:Answer It will “chime” when in proximity to another iPhone, however, it is not really loud. This is how Apple is currently avoiding privacy concerns (eg tracking your cheating partner by slipping it into their jacket pocket). If you hide it good enough your thief may not be able to find it easily in the car, allowing you to track the item longer. Take note that nothing is sure-fire security and can be defeated one way or another. This is certainly an inexpensive way to track anything of value, but you are always dependent upon other people’s iPhones for this to work effectively.

• A:Answer Most likely. The AirTag will report its location to you providing anyone in the area has an apple device capable of cellular or Wi-Fi transmission. It’s pretty cool. We put one on our dogs collar and had our son walk the neighborhood. We were able to monitor him from my wife’s phone as he wondered the streets for about a half mile. Our only draw back to this item is that it will only link to one persons account. For instance, my wife can track it, but I can’t. I hope this helps.

• A:Answer The range is virtually unlimited. The way they work is by using the “Find My App”. The AirTag “pings” and Apple product, IPhones, IPads, MacBooks, etc that have Bluetooth turned on. The accuracy of the location is only limited to the AirTag being close enough to “ping” another Apple product that has Bluetooth on. I think the range is about 100ft at best (I think), but think of how many people own iPhones, iPads, MacBooks and Apple watches. It’s millions and millions. This makes it far more likely to get a very accurate location if you’ve lost something the AirTag was attached to.
