• A:Answer You can use any cheap DVD drive that plugs into a USB port. I have an Apple drive that I bought at the same time as my now-ancient Mac Mini In 2013.

• A:Answer This article explains your concern. https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-mini/transfer-your-data-apd6a937e818/mac I chose to update the NON Apple software, Like MS Office and Quicken, to M2 Supported prior to moving but put both my old iMac and the Mac Mini on the same WiFi network to move my contacts, Music, and photo files as Exports from each. Example for Contacts: Open Contacts on the Old computer. See Screen Shot below
