- Answer My daughter is currently enrolled in college. I signed up for student deal offers and a $50 coupon was emailed to me. I waited and kept checking almost every day until Best Buy marked the item down to $699 minus $50 Student deal coupon. I paid $710 out the door. I am very happy. Sometimes they drop price $200, other times $250 but I waited for the $300 less. Using the $50 coupon really helps.

- Answer You would have to buy Office for Mac separately. macOS gives you access to Pages, Numbers, and Keynote which are Apple programs similar to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, but if you're going to want to work with .docx, .xlsx, and .pptx files (Office files) regularly and/or interact with other people using Office, then you're better off buying a copy of Office for Mac.

- Answer No, it does not have an optical (DVD) drive built-in. In fact, none of Apple's current notebook models do. You can buy an external DVD drive for it, though.

- Answer Officially, it came out in mid-2017, so Apple considers this the 2017 model. I will caution that the 2017 model was an ever-so-slight update from the 2015 model before it, meaning it's basically a 2015 model. The only change was the processor got bumped up from 1.6GHz to 1.8GHz.

QuestionIs the 128 gb ssd enough? What is it comparable to in a hard drive size? I do not download many videos or music to my computer. I mainly use it for documents and PDF that are school related but I usually save them to the computer or external drive

- Answer I bought the 128gb version. If you can afford a higher capacity machine i suggest you buy that model. With 128gb you will fund yourself depending on cloud storage or external devices.

- Answer Yes, all current models of the MacBook Air use solid state storage. This particular model contains 128GB, which is usually okay for mild use, but if you need to store a lot of data, you'll want to consider a model with a larger solid state drive.

- Answer This MacBook Air is what Apple will consider "Mid-2017" which is currently the most recent model of the MacBook Air. With that said, the Mid-2017 model is actually just a slight update of the 2015 model, so you're *technically* getting a laptop with 2015 components.

Mac Book Air is cheaper, it’s the in between laptop to purchase Mac Book Pro is $1000 more has 256gb th screen is 15’ its bigger, it’s a pound and a half heavier. The Air is great! - Answer You need extra cable in order to connect to monitor or TV. You can find easily "mini to VGA" for monitor or "mini to HDMI" for TV (it means it doesn't have HDMI output). You also need to buy external CD drive. Although Apple CD drive is very expensive, but you can find 3rd party drive with lower price like as LG. You can upgrade MacOS, but I doubt for hardware (RAM and SSD).
