I have mine plugged into the receiver via HDMI, then the receiver selects the Apple TV as input source and outputs to TV (and speakers). In short Apple TV -> Receiver -> TV.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would connect the apple tv directly to the tv and then get audio from the tv to the receiver via hdmi. I also have a Yamaha receiver and while it supports 4k pass thru only supports 4k at 30 fps
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Audio output goes through the Apple TV device through hdmi, for mine. There’s also an option for surround sound setup. I keep mine standard but, you can adjust from the settings on the home menu.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a pioneer elite reciever. I just connected it thru HDMI (strmbox) input. Worked flawlessly. I can even control the volume on my receiver with the apple TV remote thru IR connection. Hope this helps.
