Sound is fairly good. Clean tone and some heft without overpowering the speakers.

The laptop does come with a tiny little external speaker that you can attach. However if you want "rich and full", your best bet is to get some Bluetooth speakers and connect them to the laptop since you can cram only so much into the frame of a laptop without making it overly heavy and bulky.

If you are buying a laptop for integrated speakers this is not for you. The ACER R15 has much fuller and louder speakers. But it is a USB 3.1 only, not a "Thunderbolt" port. That is why i went for the ASUS, but the downgrade in sound quality is obvious. Every PC review Magazine said the sound was disappointing on every compact laptop from ASUS, so i knew what to expect. This laptop is no different. But the computer had other qualities that were more important to me, so i use headphones and get good sound, so the soundcard itself is fine. Note: i design and build speakers, so i may be more critical than others(i.e. i have a lower tolerance for sub-par sound). So these may be fine for most average joes.
