Q: Questionanyone know what brand & model RAM is installed? want to purchase upgrade without taking laptop apart first. also - how many slots are there for RAM, are there 2 with one open to add RAM or is there only 1 slot where the 8gb RAM has to be replaced?

The link above is the perfect match for this laptop (I own this laptop and that's the ram I used) Since there is only 8GB installed and you can have up to "32"GB, technically you can only get 24GB at most, if you find a 16GB stick.

• A:Answer It happened to me after about 3 months of usage. It was quite bad because the keyboard won't respond even after reboot. here it is a possible fix that worked for me: use the screen keyboard if possible to log in. from another PC send an email to yourself with asus url: https://www.asus.com/us/Laptops/ROG-Strix-G/HelpDesk_Download/ Open the url, and under the drivers & tools select G531GT model, 64 bit Windows At the bottom you will see the hot fix ROG Keyboard Firmware Update tool V2.1.8 download it, install it and reboot It is a shame that such a critical defect was inflicted upon unsuspected consumers, and the fix is so convoluted.

• A:Answer Yes it is enough and it is okay to buy it. I addition, it comes with Sata HDD adapter in case you need to add another hard drive. make sure when you add another HDD you add SSD or a fast HD otherwise it will be kind of slower.

• A:Answer You may need to update through Windows as well as the Nvidia APP itself. You should be able to see the GFX card in dxdiag display 2. You can also tweak the setting in Nvidia control panel once it is opened once through the task panel.

• A:Answer This one has sockets for you to upgrade. I believe it is meant to be overhauled if required. I didn't get the paperwork as mine was an openbox. But ill recommend you not to peel of any stickers while unscrewing the machine.
