A:AnswerHave you downloaded the latest firmware? When I got my router home and hooked it to my Optimum cable modem, I got a red light and so I called ASUS support. They helped me download the latest firmware update which cleared up the red light issue. I was very upset at first, thought I had a bad router until ASUS support helped with downloading the latest update.
A:AnswerI have about 18 things connected to it and everything seems to be working just fine, especially the hard wired stuff, no issues there. During peak internet usage in the surrounding area is when you see some sporadic and severely fluctuating speeds :/
A:AnswerThat honestly depends on many different factors. Depending on how far away your business is from you apartment. If it’s located in the same building or within 100 feet from your front door to the business it probably would reach. May I suggest looking at this router and pairing a ASUS XT8 mesh router to your network if you end up having issues with the router alone.
A:AnswerThe router requires a power cable and ethernet connection from your modem. WiFi enabled devices will connect to this wirelessly. I recommend googling "how to setup a wifi router" and check out some tutorials, all wifi routers will work this way albiet with varying features or compatibility.
A:AnswerThis router like all common standalone routers probably will work but the best option to verify is to call or chat with centurylink. You possible choice of additional isp services like VoIP may require some centurylink specific cable modem and router combination. You do know this is a high end wifi6 router used mostly for playing computer games?
A:AnswerI apologize for those claiming you absolutely need a modem. That is very dependent on what your internet access point is. If your internet enters your house on RJ45 you absolutely do not need a stand alone modem. If it enters as a phone line or coax (cable) line, then yes you do. I run this as a modem/router with 1gig fiber. The switch is done by the ISP outside my house and delivered into my house on RJ45 ports. I have used this as a modem for both fiber and cable internet as both are switch externally to my house to RJ45 cabling.
