- Answer Yes, the SSD storage space in the ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 18 (G834JZR) is expandable. The laptop comes with an M.2 2280 PCIe, Gen4x4 Performance SSD, and it has two slots. The maximum capacity of the SSD that the laptop can support is 2TB per slot.

QuestionIs this the newest scar 18? I am having a difficult time being able to find the new correct one comparing it to the asus website, asus website says the 4080 2024 model only has 16gbs of ddr5 but best buy is saying 32

- Answer Latest is 834, previous was 814. Difference is that 834 has max capacity of 64GB of RAM while 814 has max capacity of 32GB of RAM. You are welcome!

- Answer No, RAID was not implemented on this laptop, it is preinstalled with 1TB SSD.

QuestionHow easy is it to clean the three dust filters?

- Answer For the air filters located on the bottom plastic panel on the Strix Scar 18", any soft bristled brush such as a clean and dry paintbrush can be used to swipe away any visible dust. If you want to clean inbetween the fans and heatsink, you will have to remove the entire heatsink as the fans are placed underneath the heatpipes. This makes the whole process very tedious and risky since both the GPU and CPU use liquid metal TIM and is not recommended. There is the danger of the liquid metal dripping onto the motherboard and shorting it out if the heatsink removal process is done incorrectly.

- Answer Although I have not bought the laptop, the RAM is upgradeable. However, most gaming laptops have two RAM sticks installed, to run the RAM in dual channel mode(which gives more performance). Most laptops with upgradeable RAM have only two slots, which both are used on this one. If you want to upgrade the RAM to 64 GB, you would want two DDR5 32GB 5600Mhz RAM sticks.
