- Answer It won't ruin your laptop, but whether it will improve your connection depends on the condition and capability of your laptop's internal WiFi adapter. In my case, the internal adapter was failing intermittently, so it was a huge improvement back to normal operation.

- Answer I have it and it takes around 5 minutes to load a webpage, whilst it's no more than 10 feet from my router. Would not recommend.

QuestionThe WiFi card in my laptops went out so I bought this to connect to WiFi without replacing the WiFi card. I’ve used it for almost a year now and recently it’s stopped connecting to WiFi all together. Can I fix this or do I have to buy a new one?

- Answer Being that it was working for a year - and suddenly stopped - I would surmise that the driver has been either removed or corrupted. The simple remedy for this is to re-install the driver. You should be able to download the driver from the Install Disk (which initially came with the Adapter) - if you are unable to locate the disk - you may be able to download it from the OEM website. Good luck

QuestionSo I am not very smart. I just built my first PC and I just realized that it did not have a motherboard with WiFi. If I plug this into my motherboard io, will my PC be able to connect to wifi? Thanks!

- Answer I converted an older PC to wifi by plugging this device into a USB port on the front of the tower. Install the software first via the enclosed miniature cd. Works great, but don't be more than 25 ft away from your router & not too many walls in between.

- Answer Do you mean as far as making it a smart tv? All this does is provide a wireless signal to your device from your router. If the tv isn't smart then it wont have any kind of interface to connect to the internet or use it in any way. You're likely looking for a roku or fire stick that would give your tv a smart interface. Providing of course you do have a router or modem/router combo giving off a Wi-Fi signal from your ISP that they can connect to.

- Answer You can download the drivers from Asus website. It is compatible with Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10. If you have a Chromecast, Roku, or Firestick that plug into the HDMI port on the TV, then you can turn your TV into a Smart TV. This device will not make a TV wireless. Good luck!

- Answer Basically, no but you can use your cellphone to get internet on your laptop by using the mobile hotspot on your phone. This device is not on it's own a hotspot so you'll need a source of WiFi for it to use!
