Q: QuestionThis is listed as a bargain or something Because the windows comes in S Mode. Can't it be taken out of s mode? I'm aware it's permanent if you choose to take it out of s mode but I'm curious if this is stuck on it
Asked by Kimjess.
- A:Answer I purchased the computer new I took the back off remove the 256 gigabyte drive and then with Acronis true image software I made an image of the drive to a 4 TB ssd and put the 4 TB drive back in the computer. Turned it on and it booted up into S mode. I logged into the Microsoft store and switched it out of S mode to Windows home mode. The switch is free. if I want to switch back to S mode, I can always put the original 256 GB drive back in and start fresh again. I don’t recommend s mode. It will not run most applications. Acronis true image software is key to duplicating these drives with the window security and licensing on it.

Q: QuestionI will be moving from an iMac and iPhone into this laptop. Will I struggle with the transition? Love the size and price of this unit for travel into the office…
Asked by Buster.
- A:Answer I find that when you go from one to another, you have to translate/figure out where different things are, i.e., how to access them and what the equivalents are (for example, "Finder" on a Mac is "File Explorer" on a PC). How well you can do this or how bothersome it may be is an individual case by case situation, so there is no way to really predict your experience. Your best bet would be to borrow a PC from a friend and see if you can adapt fast enough for it not to be a problem.

Q: QuestionDo I need anti-virus for these product
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer "Need" is a subjective term. Do you "need" a Rolls Royce, or will you settle for a Mercedes. Both get you where you going, but one may be overkill. I can tell you that I've used anti-malware software most of my computer ownership, and rarely had a problem, but I've also used nothing for several years (don't recommend that), or MS Defender, which comes included, for a year, and also rarely had a problem. Really it depends on what websites you go to, and whether you are stupid enough to click on links from unsolicited or fake emails that are nothing more than virus delivery systems.

Q: QuestionCan you install Microsoft Office on this laptop?
Asked by Layla1.
- A:Answer You can install any of the many versions of MS Office on any MS computer. How you use it may be problematic, since you are limited in storage and RAM, so you have to consider other programs you may install/run, and how many at a time you will open.

Q: Questionis there a warranty on this product and how long? Who to contact for warranty?
Asked by asas.
- A:Answer One year parts and labor (industry standard). If something goes wrong within the return window for BB, I would suggest contacting them, since it would probably be in the category of "right out of the box." Beyond that time, you contact Asus. BTW, this information is ALWAYS provided in the packing of a computer.
