A:AnswerThank you for your question. You can receive smart alerts for manual operations (manually unlocking/locking). Set up a Wi-Fi bridge if you want to access the activity log remotely.
A:AnswerI don't see why it wouldn't work. However I would strongly advise you to keep a manual method of entry as a usable option to gain entry just in case you find yourself in a situation where you might loose your phone or the BATTERYS to the lock go bad and your unable to operate the lock to get inside.
I would like to note the app does come with a low battery indicator so it would be rare to be surprised by a dead battery.
A:AnswerAugust doesn’t really disclose what type of wifi card is used. This lock is not bandwidth intensive and so it is not necessary for it to have it use the latest and greatest technology. If your modem or modem / router has a 2.4 band, you’re in good shape.
A:AnswerThis lock is completely compatible with Alexa, as well as the other major voice services (Google, Apple). In the Alexa App, you will ahve to enable the August skill.
A:AnswerUnfortunately there is no way to disable the turning of the lock. If you couldn’t turn it by hand, then you might find yourself in a bind if the batteries failed or the app didn’t work.
A:AnswerThe lock uses the app to determine location. If you have your phone in the kitchen and you attempt to go in and out of the door you would need to manually unlock the door and use your existing house key to unlock the smart lock (if you have auto lock enabled)
A:AnswerHello,
August locks are compatible with single-cylinder deadbolts. Since they do not replace the actual deadbolt the existing keys can still be used. Please let us know if you have questions or concerns.
Thanks,
August Home
A:AnswerHello,
You can invite other users to the lock by navigating to the Guest List page and then selecting to invite a new user. After follow the in app steps to complete the invite. Please let us know if you have further questions.
Thanks,
August Home
A:AnswerAfter replacing the batteries, operate your lock 3 times using the August App. This should stop the low-battery alerts until the next time the batteries reach 25% capacity.
PLEASE NOTE: You must operate the lock over Bluetooth or remotely if you have an August Wi-Fi bridge. Operating your lock manually will not stop the low-battery notifications.
A:AnswerYou should be confident a secure to know that if the lock was previously used you can reset the lock and re add the smart lock to your account and only you will be able to operate it and anyone you authorize. The previous owner would need you to authorize them to have any control over the lock.
A:AnswerWe use ours very little and get about 3-4 weeks on battery life. I suspect you would be fine - will just need to change the batteries every few days.
A:AnswerIt is compatible with Google and Alexa. If ring communicates to Google then yes. All things are connected. I just don't know what you hope to accomplish with the doorbell alone and the lock???
