Questiondoes it take batteries and you dont have to plug it in to the wall?

- Answer You charge this unit and it will supply power to your devices off that charge without being plugged into the outlet. Or you can plug into an outlet and it will allow up to two grounded plug devices and one USB to be charged off it. Pretty handy.

- Answer This device DOES hold a charge and doesn't need to be plugged in to be used for charging your phone/tablet ... it must be plugged in to charge the battery. You cannot use it to operate your laptop of its not plugged into an outlet, only the USB port will work (if charged)

- Answer No, the outlets only work when it's plugged into the wall. The USB port works when plugged in and unplugged, but when unplugged the battery must be charged and only the USB port works NOT the 2 outlets.

- Answer No, assuming you want to plug in a normal string of lights. The dual-outlets only function when connected to AC. You could use the USB output to power a string of LEDs that were powered by USB (though, I don't know how long the battery would last).

- Answer The dual-outlet charging is only possible when connected to AC. If you have a laptop that is USB type C you may be able to provide some "extra juice" using a USB type A to USB type C cable (I wouldn't recommend it). Note: The charger that comes with a New MacBook Pro 13" is 61W 3A (USB PD), the USB port output on this device is 10W 2A. That being said, if it does charge it would take forever.
