A:AnswerHello, thank you for reaching out. The 1-4 cup setting is meant when you want to brew small batches of 1-4 cups only to have the full carafe flavor. We understand that you are using 6 cups of water and pressing 1-4 cup, this is not how it is designed to be used. You should be using a medium grind setting and select between 1-4 cups of water using the marking on the carafe and water tank and fill that up. No more. Then select the 1-4 cup setting in the program. You should be using 1 level scoop of coffee per cups of water used. If you want to make for 4 cups of coffee he should be filling the carafe to the 4 cup water line, and then adding 4 level scoops of coffee (using the scoop that came with the machine. The standard rule for all home drip coffee makers is 5oz of water (is 1 cup) per 5g of coffee – that is the proper ratio. We hope this helps. Have a nice day. The BELLA Team.
A:AnswerI purchased the Bella Pro Series in November and the coffee I’ve made, has that plastic smell and taste......I’ve run approx 10 pots of water thru and it is still bad......yes the inside parts are plastic......I should have returned it right away.....but I thought it would clear up.....so.....at this point I feel like I’m stuck with it.
A:AnswerYes, but adjust if you like stronger coffee. Also, if you are making small amounts use the 4 cup button. The process is a little slower but if makes a good cup of coffee.
A:AnswerHello, thanks for reaching out. Please see here the instructions: DESCALING
Special cleaning of your Coffee Maker is recommended at least once a month, depending on
frequency of use and quality of water used in the unit. If water in your area is especially hard, the
following cleaning procedure should be performed every 2 weeks, since minerals in water can
detract from the flavor of the coffee and possibly lengthen brew time.
1. Fill carafe with 1 part white vinegar to 3 parts cold water. Pour water and vinegar solution
into the water reservoir.
2. Brew the vinegar solution until the carafe is half full.
NOTE: During cleaning, more steam will occur than during normal coffee brewing.
3. Press the ON/OFF button to turn the Coffee Maker OFF. When liquid stops dripping from
filter holder into the carafe, remove the carafe and allow liquid to cool for 15 minutes. When
cooled, lift lid and pour liquid back into the water reservoir.
4. Close the lid. Return carafe to the warming plate.
5. BREW THE VINEGAR SOLUTION again, allowing all the cleaning solution to empty into the
carafe. After dripping has stopped, discard contents of the carafe.
6. Allow Coffee Maker to cool for 15 minutes, rinse by brewing a carafe full of cold water.
Insert the clean permanent coffee filter into the removable filter holder before brewing.
7. Repeat until no yellow liquid comes out and until no vinegar odor is left.
8. At end of brew cycle, press the ON/OFF button to turn the Coffee Maker OFF. Discard water
in the carafe. Wash carafe, permanent coffee filter, and removable filter holder in hot sudsy
water. Dry parts thoroughly.
NOTE: carafe, permanent coffee filter, and removable filter holder are top-rack dishwasher
safe. The carafe lid is removable for easy cleaning.
9. When Coffee Maker has cooled, wipe exterior with a dry cloth.
Hope this helps. Have a great day. The BELLA Team.
A:AnswerSo it sounds like this brews around 180 degrees F. Coffee should always be brewed at 205 degrees Fahrenheit. Anything less is not fully extracting the flavor of your coffee...especially something 25 degrees to low.

A:AnswerYou can increase it by holding the power button when the unit is off. And then you can push the hour button to increase it. I have mine at 4 hours and that is the max.
A:AnswerHello, thanks for reaching out. Please select 1-4 cups and then “Bold” strength selection. It should work and you will be able to use Bold function to make the minimum amount of coffee you want. Enjoy your coffee. Have a great day. The BELLA Team.
A:AnswerHello, thanks for reaching out. Yes, it does have pause and serve feature. If you wish to serve a cup of coffee before the brew cycle
is completed, simply remove carafe from the warming plate. Dripping will automatically cease. Return the carafe onto the warming plate, dripping will resume. Have a great day. The BELLA Team.
