QuestionI am using scoops recommended +2 or 3. Coffee is often weak even on Bold and using 1-4 cup option. I don't want to double coffee cost. Seriously considering returning. Have solution?

- Answer Hello, thank you for reaching out. The 1-4 cup setting is meant when you want to brew small batches of 1-4 cups only to have the full carafe flavor. We understand that you are using 6 cups of water and pressing 1-4 cup, this is not how it is designed to be used. You should be using a medium grind setting and select between 1-4 cups of water using the marking on the carafe and water tank and fill that up. No more. Then select the 1-4 cup setting in the program. You should be using 1 level scoop of coffee per cups of water used. If you want to make for 4 cups of coffee he should be filling the carafe to the 4 cup water line, and then adding 4 level scoops of coffee (using the scoop that came with the machine. The standard rule for all home drip coffee makers is 5oz of water (is 1 cup) per 5g of coffee – that is the proper ratio. We hope this helps. Have a nice day. The BELLA Team.

QuestionIs this Coffee maker BPA free? I just bought a different coffee maker and it tastes and smells like plastic, leeching harmful BPAs that degrade health, awful! I googled “BPA free coffee maker” and this came up, are the inside parts plastic or metal?

- Answer I purchased the Bella Pro Series in November and the coffee I’ve made, has that plastic smell and taste......I’ve run approx 10 pots of water thru and it is still bad......yes the inside parts are plastic......I should have returned it right away.....but I thought it would clear up.....so.....at this point I feel like I’m stuck with it.

QuestionWith regards to the measuring scoop that comes with this coffee maker, would 1 level scoop be equal to 1 Tablespoon? (When choosing to add more or less coffee, it would be help me to know how much ground coffee I am starting with). thank you

- Answer Yes, but adjust if you like stronger coffee. Also, if you are making small amounts use the 4 cup button. The process is a little slower but if makes a good cup of coffee.

- Answer So it sounds like this brews around 180 degrees F. Coffee should always be brewed at 205 degrees Fahrenheit. Anything less is not fully extracting the flavor of your coffee...especially something 25 degrees to low.

- Answer You can increase it by holding the power button when the unit is off. And then you can push the hour button to increase it. I have mine at 4 hours and that is the max.

- Answer Hello, thanks for reaching out. Yes, it does have pause and serve feature. If you wish to serve a cup of coffee before the brew cycle is completed, simply remove carafe from the warming plate. Dripping will automatically cease.
