Q: QuestionI have Bitdefender and had the auto renewal disabled so it would not renew for $89. I see the Total Security here for $29. Do I just download and make a new password and reinstall on my other devices that I had it on as well then?

• A:Answer You can just go into your online Bitdefender Central account and enter the new validation code under your existing account. No need to uninstall and reinstall. You can also install on multiple device from your Bitdefender Central Account as long as you buy the multiple device software. It's pretty simple. Q: QuestionI am comparing the BD Total Security digital download vs the CD version and the CD version states it has a 2 way firewall but the digital download of the same software states it only has a one way firewall? Kinda confusing and not sure if this is a typo?

• A:Answer Typos, not unusual...Download directly from the bitdefender site, not here, if you choose this method. Always buy the box version and then call or visit their site before opening. Request an email listing everything it has, if they'll even tell you. Their site is also very confusing and doesn't list exactly what you're getting. All their products that say the price is for 1 year, are the sale price for that year, then auto renew at high prices. Do research first, always.

• A:Answer Yes, Bitdefender has a VPN component BUT it is limited to 200 MB per day according to the app. However, I don't know what the costs would be after you exceeded the 200 MB per day. Google it for precise information. BTW - I have yet to use the VPN function, so I can't speak to how good it is.

• A:Answer You don't have to use the CD. The package contains additional leaflets with licensing information. You set up an online account with your userID and password. From there, you download and install the BitDefender applications to the chosen devices. The portal keeps track of the number of licenses used.
